    Well Blew my motor...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
To everyone here, 36,000 miles and my motor went boo boo. Now the option is should I sell it or upgrade the new motor internally so it can handle power. I saw that eurospec has a very nice head that can come with upgrade cam and valves and so on. I can also get some racing pistons and rods with racing headgasket. Will that be good then guys? Or is my s**t going to blow up again lol I just need advice if I am going to build this motor!

You wouldnt believe that it was just a chip and intake. But if I upgrade it I need to know if I need other things such as oil pump blah blah blah. I think I can get giac to tune it to a bomb turbo as well.

What chip were you running? Exactly how did it blow? Connecting rod? Piston seal? Valve failure? Gasket leak? Cracked head/crank? It would be very helpful to us if you could give us more info.

At 1.1 bar this doesn't sound like a failure due to the boost.

36 000 miles, why do you want a different engine to swap in?

dont you still have a warranty?

Audi will try till their last dieing breath to void your warranty on an engine replacement. They want to increase their profit margin as much as possible. If they know you have a chip and intake then they are going to point a finger right at them.

No doubt about that. As I was saying though, from a mechanical standpoint, a chip and intake will not blow up an engine. He is screwed either way.

Mechanically YES, a chip and intake will not blow shit up. However, the WRONG chip an the WRONG intake (allowing rocks and foreign objects inside) will... aka "open element/filterless" intake.

Lol! I am not avoiding any questions. My engine is replaced with a new one already. I just want to make my car stronger reliable, and how can you mis-shift a tip! Too funny. Anyways I am down to re-build the new engine to handle boost and get the level 10 upgrade on the tranny. Just was asking for some opnions not criticisms and saying its bs! But anyways I guess its always tough to get a solid opnion since no of you guys haven't built your engines internally anyways.

diagnosis, oil pump is clogged, no oil gets delivered to the crankshaft, no oil, 1 and 2 cylinder frys along with 4 bend valves and a blown head gasket. I would say thats significant and dont dog on tip anything is possible. So cut the crap and the flames and lets coorperate, aren't we all fellow audiziners anyways. Isn't that what its all about to, help people build their rides?

If he goes with a 2.0 block he will have to run his stock turbo at no more then 10psi. Even the stage 3 and PES kits are too small for the 2.0 liter. I ran a K04 on my 2.0 liter to break it in and I was boosting 7psi while just revving out of gear. Now if you like a setup that will give you K04 tq with peak hp at 5500 then go for the 2.0 liter with a stage 3 or PES kit other wise it will needs something larger.

Well you can call up dynamic racing solutions to see if they will build you a new motor or you can just buy some 82.5mm JE pistons and bore it out to fit those. It would be a good time to drop the compression from 9.3:1 down to 9.0:1 or even 8.5:1.

I agree, but we were just asking you to clarify the situation. It would be more constructive to the forum if you had stated the problem ahead of time, so we could figure out why we got here in the first place.

The oil pump clogging has nothing to do with the chip most likely. It sounds like oil pump failure which seems to have happened to more than a few B6ers.

Exactly! It happened to me a couple of months ago. AoA should be responsable for it. Since the oil pump failure is a manufactor defect. Regardless of having ur car chipped or not.
