    My Engine Is Missing

At steady throttle cruising on the freeway there is a noticable miss. I have also noticed that there is significant carbon build up on the left tail pipe. Has anyone else had a similar issue with the V8? Thanks in advance for the info.

I have a 1.8T and my engine is missing under 40 mph. It takes forever to get to 40 mph even when I rev to 4500 pm between 1-2-3 gears.

I am using either Shell or Chevron 91 octane. My dealer appointment is on Monday morning, but I wanted to get some information before I show up there.

    Hey Jet,

I am not getting any miss fires, but I get a very heavy Carbon Build-up on my Exhaust. This seems to be very common, the A8 with the same motor does the exact same thing.

Carbon buildup occurs from burning RICH, or not burning any fuel at all (caused by missfiring). Not sure on which coilpacks the S4 uses, but most of the late model coilpacks (including L coils) suck. I'm on my 3rd set of coils.

Thanks for the info guys. I took it in and they cannot find any issues. I am going to take the tech for a ride so that he can feel the miss fires.
