TIA.
If I'm correct, the E05 is standard K04 cartridge on a K03 Sport/K04-15 housing, with a bigger K04 wheel (from K04-23 perhaps?) on the cold side, personally I do not know what "E05" was coined from, same with the SK04 other than "Super K04". (someone correct me if im wrong). All these so called "kits" on the market are all made up with different components from different vendors (ie: modified K04 aka "E05" with custom-tuned REVO software, injectors, and piping = Eurocode "kit"). Some tuners and vendors make their own "flavor" of the K04 (bigger impellor blades, compressor housing boring, etc). But they are still KKK turbos (unless you are talking about the T28).
There is a company out in TX called Majestic Turbo, that specializes in KKK turbos. They will add, tweek, or modify any KKK trim to any turbo you want (assuming you have the software to TUNE the SOB). This is the route I am planning on taking in the near future, all I will need is the software which Garrett should be working on. If you ever worked on or rebuilt turbos in the past, you will notice how fun (and EASY) it really is--like Legos :) I replaced my blown Toyota/IHI CT-12 turbos (twisted the shafts) on my Supra with a set of "100k worn out" turbos I bought used for $100, which cost me $70 in parts, and then had the exhaust manifolds bead-blasted and cleaned. Then TurboCity in Orange, CA was kind enough to balance them for me. The babies worked FLAWLESSLY putting down ~420rwhp.
Many people often have doubts or have heard horror stories about "rebuilding" worn turbos. In all out reality, rebuilding turbos simply involve replacing the carbon and oil seals (rebuild kit looks like a $40 box of rubber bands and gaskets). As long as there's no physical damage on the shaft and blades, any rebuilt turbo should be good as new. Im sure the same applies to KKK turbos.
Here are some pics:
Keep in mind these were originally 100k+ blown turbos. And if you've seen the color on the rusted and torn up exhaust housings, you'd swear these turbos were new. :)
