    Question about a rattle

When I go over bumps in the road, I hear a rattle from some of the wheel areas. I dont know which ones it could be, but my guess its the fronts only. It is really beginning to bother me and want to get it checked out at the dealership. What could this be, does warranty cover this kind of stuff?

Can you be more specific? Is it a rattle, or more of a thumping/clunking sound?

You can also try bouncing up and down on the sides where you hear it to see if you can recreate the noise.

I checked the car. I can't replicate the sound. But when driving and going over bump in the road, I hear a rattle or something of that sorts. Its not thumping, more of a higher pitched sound.

If it's a high-pitched, tinny cheap rattle sound...maybe it could be something as simple as a loose center cap on a wheel.

Sounds stupid, but one of mine made a "rattle" sound. Shot in the dark =D I took mine out, glued it back in and now it doesn't move and rattle anymore.

I drove around tonight, actually its not a rattle, I would describe it as a squeeky sounds if i go over small potholes or even the small grooves between concerte slabs. If i go over those things slowly or even slower maybe 20 mph, the sounds can't be heard.

    Any more ideas?

sounds like control arms. easiest way to check is to go out to your car right now, and press down on one of the front quater panels (bounce the car up and down a little) you should hear the noise. If so, it's control arms. They will need to be replaced at some point.

Yea when I push down on the rear of my car, I hear kinda like a soft squeaking/groaning...

No word on that control arm recall eh? Oh well, mine aren't bad yet...but the rattling from my car IS the center cap =P
