    boost issues after k04 install

hey guys my k04 has been in for a few days now and i seem to be having some boost issues. my my boost gauge reads in kg/2.
ok so first and second gear i will hit full boost or should i say peak boost wich is around 1.2 - 1.5 i think it changes with temp differences or whatnot. any way so first and second will hit it but not drop and hold at like 1. it shoots down dramaticly to 0.5 and the car feels like its not making power so i shift and does the same thing in sencond. however in second gear the boost holds for a little then suddenly drops down. The funny part is when im in third, it will reach 1.2, then it pulls to 1.5 and after a couple seconds drops all the way to 0.5. now there are a couple things that have been mentioned, like the car being heat soaked. i do not have a front mount. and others say it might be tuning or a bad bpv. does anyone have experience with these same issues or know how to fix this problem, any help will be apreciated. im working on trying to get video of the guage readings.

my guess is a vac leak --- leak off the turbo? or one of the vac lines that were connected within that time. My guess is check all your vac lines. Check make sure your turbo is torqued down to the right specs all the way around on the same torque spec.

You should be able to get the same boost readings as what you were hitting with stock. Unless you have something on the actuator on the turbo with the wastegate spring adjusted wrong?

Have someone look at it thats done the turbo upgrades around your area bro. Keep in mind you should only be able to boost to a certain amount within the RPM range.

Give us an update on it also... check on the BPV alot of people are having problems holding higher amount of boost when within that area due to leaking on the BPV.

BTW -- i found an apt and im moving out there next week so I might be able to make it to my 1st A1 meet with my own car not this sat but the next! --- But ill probably wait just to catch up.

the car hits boost it just pulls back, if it had a vac leak he wouldnt see more then 7 psi, and he is spiking at 1.2-1.5 bar. there have been alot of people having this same problem with the AWE kit you should do a search on audiworld like i did the other night after we finished up and see what the problems were and how people were able to fix them. when i searched i pulled up ALOT of the same exact thing.

oh it was the same old same old. the bolts that i have the turbo bolted up with wont let me torque to proper spec to get the turbo to seal to the manifold and the setup i am running doesnt use a gasket so i have a large exhaust leak and it is throwing my A/F waaay off not to mention killing all of the back pressure before the turbo which is also why i keep throwing that damn cat code as all of the hot exhaust air is seeping out at the flange. its also why my car is only boosting .5 bar... so yeah 3 day express shipping i should have the proper studs and bolts on either friday or monday.

that is why my car sounded all loud when i started it up, i tightened them up when i got home and it started up fine the next day.

Nizmo, what year are you? If you're a '97, then you may need to update your MAF ot a newer version.
