First SK04 success story

This kit makes some serious power….

…with REVO software, custom tuned by Dave from Eurocode tuning.

Neuspeed had a car for 10 day and they couldn’t resolve low RPM pinging and lack of power. I was even told that the engine was “tight”, that it’s “ping sensitive” and “possibly a lemon”.
I’ve pulled the injectors today to check if they are TT225 as NS told me. Injector’s #2 and #3 rubber rings were missing, thats beside them not being TT225’s.
Just after two minutes spent driving in a car David realized that fuel was not mapped correctly. We parked at local drugstore where David downloaded REVO software and just after few minutes the car was running a lot better with no pinging.
I had to make a 6 hour trip from Bay Area to LA and the only thing I regret is waiting this long to do it.
Dave had spent good 5 hours fine tuning the software without charging me a penny (Thanks Dave).

are you saying you pulled your injectors and they where not tt225's?

like neuspeed had the wrong parts in the box?

also who did your install? I would have some words with them... orings missing? geezus

So you bought this SK04 kit from Neuspeed (or maybe Greedspeed)? They sold it to you "as is" and it wasn't working properly? Then they tried to "tune" it and failed? Then you discover that the injectors are not as claimed and that some are missing the o-rings? What's wrong with this story.

What does this say about Neuspeed, their products, and their ability to release a reliable, functioning kit, for the A4 B6. I especially like the part where they say your car is a "lemon". That's great.

Sorry. I don't know your whole story with this SK04.

TT225 injectors have long nech like these, and the one I got have short neck and the part number has been filed off.

New Dimensions did the install, but that not even relevant any more cuz Neuspeed had a car for 10 days and soposably the checked evrything.
If they did as they say then they should have caught this and missing O-rings on two of them.

I'm wondering if I should have gone with Revo software with my KO4? Since the SKO4, and EO5 are working so well with it, I wonder which software is putting down more power?

well im glad your finally happy... Kudos to david at ecode for taking care of you... REVO aside hes scoring in my book... now if hed just sell that big turbo software hes sitting on so we can get some GT series turbos on these cars...

These are the injectors for my MTM Stage 2. They file off the serial #/info. Rumored to be TT225.

Hi Dejan, what kind of gains are you seeing now? I am in the market of getting my turbo upgraded but I may get the GT28RS, only problem is that I've heard great things about how Dave@Eurocode does wonders custom tuning the software to accommodate for the added power, only problem is that I am on the East coast most of the time and unless Dave is willing to fly over to hook my ride up then I may have to get Dahlback to custom my setup.

Mine was even worse, uphill, downhill, straight line or corners it would ping in low rpm range no matter what.
It took Dave entire 2 min to fix it.

did he back down the timing? did you get your money back for the NS software? how much was the revo?

I am awaiting my VAG-Com, and I will see what is going on with my software. if it is pinging, then out if comes. Neuspeed offered to retune it for me, by backing down the timing at low rpms. I just don't know . . . it runs well though.

Yeah.. Revo is starting to climb up the ladders as the tuner for the B6's. If only I could have David custom tune my car here in the Bay AREA!!! I guess its just a 6 hour drive though.

It's not the timing, since youre not even boosting when the pinging occurs. Fuel is not mapped correctly.
When you boos the car doesnt ping?
I can drive my car in 4th going 15 mph and still not ping.
Revo software for big turbo was $699 + 5 hours of tuning @ $0 an hour.

I wonder if REVO is better? I guess it takes someone that already has NS/KO4, to see if the REVO makes a big difference.
Has anyone KO4ed/REVO'd their ride here. Everyone I know is using NS software.

probably because you can actually tune revo via its sps 3 or a tuner can do it for you. i.e david@eurocode. it seems he does wonders to cars that need tuning.

We can definitely arrange something. David and I are currently planning a trip to Florida to install an E05 so coming up to the Bay Area shouldn't be a problem. Like Dejan said if you can get a few people together, then I'm sure I can drag David up there.

I just can't go getting all sorts of software though. $699 isn't cheap . . .

I'll see what the ECU is telling the car to do when I VAG it and do some data logging. I want to see if the car ECU is telling the engine to retard timing at low RPM's.

if I find that there is a problem I will yank the software and ask greedspeed for a refund to go towards revo software.

well you've got WSDFOO that's gotta get his cat resolved but he doesn't seem to have a problem w/ his NS software...but his is an 03.

mine only has problems at low rpm's going uphill; 3rd at 25mph under 2000RPM only uphill. I have also heard from another member over at AW that he has a similar problem . . . except his car is bone stock.

this is why I wonder if it is indeed the NS K04 software.

does anyone else have the problem of pinging up a steep hill when under low throttle at low rpm's?

it makes sense your fueling was all screwed up . . . if they coded it for TT225 injectors and they were't TT225 injectors then it wouldn't flow the correct amount of fuel at all. Sounds like he just changed program to one that coded for the correct injectors. If so, then it troubles me that NS could not figure this out. Especially since I am running their software currently.

In discussion w/ Aaron this was the deal w/ the injectors...

"We use the new style 225 TT injectors for the new style heads, the old heads used the J injector with the extension. VW, Audi did away with the extension on the new heads for better atonization and of course comes better emissions."

Quit scaring me Mark. My car is outta commission right now as I'm doing my install & P&P Mani, I'm gonna send my ECU in next week, but now who do I go with???

I guess I might wait another week and see...I'm doing this install very slow as to not screw it up. Thank god I have a truck to drive to work.

Somebody on this planet has to have KO4/Revo right now!

I'm sure we could get a few people to do stuff here. Problem is, for me, it would have to be in a few months. I'm still debating on going just K04 route or GT28rs route. Long story short... If I go GT28rs.. I'm getting another daily driver to go to the hospital. If I go K04, I keep the Audi as the daily. So...

I wonder when David and Revo will release teh GT28rs?

mark: with regards to your pinging at low rpm's are you even into boost yet? because NS says that they don't even touch the timing at that low of an RPM.

After some digging ie research I found out that REVO doesn't have special K04 software.

also, if the o-rings on the injectors were not in place the car would totally idle rough and under boost you would get pressure blowing out of the area and would result in an oily residue. It's pretty easy to have the o-ring slip out during removal etc.
