    Are cheaper 19"s TOO cheap??

I'm new to the world of the A4, but I'd love to put some 19" rims on my 2001 1.8T. I was looking for inexpensive wheel/tire packages on www.wheelmax.com and found a nice looking set of 19 x 9 wheels/tires made by EXEL for only $950.00. Think they are any good or a waste of my money? An would I have to make any modifications to the suspension or wheel wells for them to fit? Here's the site:

    Thanks.

I'd be concerned with how soft they are. With that size (at that price), if you hit a pot hole at speeds, you're looking at a toasted rim.

I have rock solid 17s, and they get wailed on every day where I live, and I'm lucky I haven't bent one. I cannot imagine using 19s on my daily driver. I even drive as carefully as possible, but most of the time it's unavoidable.

If you're running 19s, I also assume you're running dropped suspension (otherwise it would look very very silly). Together, they'd make for one of the most uncomfortable rides known to man.

But, they look hot as hell. But I'm not a show guy, so I'll stick with my 17s and race springs, and deal with the bumps, and enjoy taking corners at 60mph.

If you want a good deal on a package of pretty decent wheels, FLIKS, go to edgeracing.com and check that out.

i know you might think running 19's and being lowered is really uncomfortable, but i think that might be in your area. my ride is smooth a comfortable, and sometimes i get sleepy (maybe i'm driving too slow). i'm running the vogtlands with koni adjustables and not much difference compared to stock sport.

Heck yeah they are. I have been shocked by how strong these wheels are. I mean I have hit some ditches that would swallow a wheel and every time I have them check, the wheels are 100% round.

You can get away with 19"s. It depends on your tire too. I friend of mine runs 19s with race.
