    Lon does...

He has a custom setup and if I remember correctly it was Magnaflow. I heard it in person the other day and it sounded pretty damn good. Nice low, deep tone. Didn't ride in the car, but I really liked the sound, not too loud.

I had a magnaflow exhaust on my Mustang. It sounded great and was a good quality piece. I know this doesn't tell you much about how it sounds on an Audi, but I can tell you that they are quality systems.

It will be nice working with proper villains again!

Here is my car on the dyno, it has a full 3" exhaust with a single in single out magnaflow muffler.

dyno run of 335 at the wheels on 91 octane and 16psi
This is a untuned run just after putting the car on they dyno. Just wanted to see what it was making before we even started tuning. The run is from 3k rpms to 7300 rpms and the shift light comes on at 7k. The hp peak was at 7300. After all the dyno tuning I had them change the rev limiter to 7800 which is where my power still peaks at while running 20psi 105 octane.

Hmm... I haven't heard the Thermal in person, just the clips. Lon's Magnaflow setup is much quieter than the Thermal. He will be able to tell you much more than me. Maybe he can chime in.

so thermal are magnaflow? I just wanted to know how much louder they are from the remus exhaust or do they sound similar. The remus are quite expensive for just the muffler but made well.

ok. Just got the magnaflow intalled today. After install, went to a GTG in orang'e county and met up with some cool dudes. I compared it with someone who had nuespeed and another with Thermal. The Magnaflow's sound was closer to the thermal.

In the cockpit, I personally think its too loud for my taste buds but the other enthusiast @ the GTG approved of the sound. I had a few of them ride in the car and they both said it wasn't too loud and it was fine. As far as performance, It definately put a smile on my face. Car felt livelier on higher rpm ranges. From Launch, the Butt-dyno definately approves. Hard to estimate on hp gains so I won't even go there but, definately gains.

I had a guy drive the car WOT while I listened from the outside. Wow, sounds Amazing. deep melow tone (hard to believe its a 4 banger..hehe)

I was initially the 1st fwd b6 to have the thermal. Let's just say I couldn't wait any longer. I did some research on the forums on custom exhaust and a few names came to mind and also the fact that the cost was much much cheaper for about the same performance and looks. So I inquired about a full exhaust set up at a place around the corner from my house. Bam! Magnaflow. Stainless steel mufflers(looks just like thermals) and picked the tips that look just like our stocks but now 3.5 inch in diam.

Overall scale 1-10. Ill give this an 8 only because it's a bit too loud for me. But I can always install a resignator to lessen the sound. Then It might be a 10.
