i'm not sure what that is... it doesnt exactly look like a resistor to me. resistors are cylindrical and have colored rings that tell u how much current it disapates.
BUT! the omega symbol stands for Ohms. Ohms are used to measure resistance so it very well may be a 2.5 ohm resistor.
no resistor disapates the exact amount it says so there is usually a +/- value which is stated by the color rings (which are not on there). maybe the "P3" simply stands for plus 3? which would also have to be minus 3. instead of having the rings since it's not a cylindrical shape they just wrote the value on it?
that's all i can make out of it.
thanks bro...i'm trying to find some material on these online but unsuccessful so far.
It's old...came off a fan blower control unit board made by GE for a variable speed A/C Handler unit in home....it's made in 1988 so a 16 year old part might be hard to find unless I can decode it and get an equivalent at Radio Shack or somewhere.
It is old, but there are plenty of the regular resistors on that same motherboard, with stripes like you describe. not sure why they would use this type of resistor instead of resistors known to me and you and everyone (the stripped ones),
Thought maybe it's some capacitor or Voristor or something, but can't decode it.
Thanks for you help
can anyone else take a stab at decoding this thing for me please?
TIA
