    control arms/bushings question

The control arms going bad is basically the bushings itself, correct? If so, then why do we have to replace the whole arm? Can't we just replace the bushings on the existing arms? Wouldn't that be a lot cheaper?

Both the bushing and the ball joint fail on these control arms.

The bushing is replacable but, the balljoint is pressed into the arm in a factory on a metal press. Definately not replacable by the average person.

So, in essence, you need to replace the balljoint and bushings thus, the whole arm.
