I know there's at least a few people here in the wireless field, so I figured I'd post this here as well.

I hate Verizon with a passion. The royally screwed me over, and i ended up forking over $900+ to those mother fu-kers.. I havent dealt with anyone from Verizon in over a year (thank god) but everytime i hear "Verizon" i get all pissed off and stuff

I switched to Cingular and havent looked back.

I don't seem to mind Verizon, they have been very helpful and easy to deal with. I used to have text message on my phone but i had to get it taken off. What was happening was that i had like 200 free text a month and for some reason my phone would continually "duplicate" each text i recieved about 10x ever like 5 mins. So after one month i owed like $800. I went to Verizon and told them and showed them what my deal was and they said "well we will not charge you for the text messages this month so now your bill is $50 for regular useage. They then said you have 2 choices on what you can do. We can just let you try your text again and if you do get a high bill again we would have to charge you, or we can just shut off your text messages. i went with shutting it off. All in all, they were nice and didn't make me pay $800 for the texting.

when your "salesman" sold some kinda plan to you and u were believed that u had/took that plan it doesn't mean shit.
the salesman of yours probably made a mistake or didn't know shit. so when you come back and blame everything on him, he is not gonna say "oh i made a mistake"
the only thing u can do now is....
if you have the contract paper stating that u took that unlimited txt plan, it will be no problem. they should take care of that w/o a problem. if not, u just have to fight over the phone with VZW reps. some reps are dumb, some are smart, some are PITA.

    good luck

I've had nothing but good experiences with Verizon, actually, but I do know of some who have had a less-than-stellar rapport with them.

Guess it just depends. The reps do make a big deal. Our rep signed us up for some bull we never use so the bill came to like $832, so my dad went down there and dealt with it accordingly

Thats sux buddy. But it is typical saleman crap,, just like buying a car anymore. I work in the wireless industry, but I am in construction. Hell I don't even get discounts and I work directly for most of the carriers. Its always great when I get that $200 dollar bill and then I check through and see they are 90 days past due on a few grand they owe my business. But they will shut my phone off just the same if I don't pay them right away.

Anyway if you call Verizon customer support and b*tch,, tell them how the saleman misslead you. They may drop some or all or the extra charges for that month. Its worth a try.
