Size & Brand DownPipe with your K04???

what size and brand downpipe do you use with your k04s and is bigger downpipe really needed, if yes where do i get one, and what's the average price,

some people say that a downpipe basically is needed for noticeable power gains in the upper RPMS, but that you lose some of your low-end. overall you get more power though. it's a trade-off that's worth it for most people, but no, it's not necessary. there are even people running a k04 kit with just a remus muffler, no additional bigger piping (though that's probably not the BEST thing...)

for a ko4 i realy dont think you need to get bigger than a 2.5 inch down pipe. however i think that mine is a 2.75 wich comes with the neuspeed g2. i think people are running the 2.75 with no probs but i realy dont think you need to go bigger than that unless you go big turbo.

If you don't have an exhaust yet, just get the downpipe from the same manufacturer. The majority of exhaust manufacturers should offer a downpipe to go with it. I have a Brullen exhaust and downpipe and that's what I plan on running if/when I do the K04 upgrade.

Borla 2.25" Catback...I just installed it Sunday and there is a quite noticeable difference. I have heard many debates about pipe sizing and the overall conclusion I have heard is that 2.25 - 2.5" inch piping matches the K04 the best.

Food for thought:

I had a FULL 3" system on my B5 w/Ko4 (Including Hiflow cat) and i lost some torque for sure.. 2.5" is plenty for the Ko4..
