I like the ride... smooth for the most part.. except, obviously when you hit a big bump....but for the most part, it is comfortable....plus, it handles a million times better..

    Here ya go:

heh, let me know when to stop. Some of those are pre-centercaps. But you get the point. The rear is down one clip, the front is at "stock" setting. H&R Race + neuspeed bilstein.

Mine does, because the rear settles a bit lower than the front. I'm going to drop the front a couple clips though and see what happens.

My front is way lower than the rear. Gives it a raked look.

To add also if you have a sub and amp set up and to add to that you have all your other shit in the trunk aswell as the spare. So that will settle it down more. Thats something to keep in mind.

But then again sometimes when you go to low you will lose ride performance. Sometimes being slammed wont always bring you the best ride 100%.

    Such a nice setup.

So who lives in a snowy area, how do you find this setup in the winter?

What do you consider a big snow storm. I'm wondering how it will handle it, I was pushing enough snow this past winter riding stock. I drive out to the ski hills all winter.

Thats the setup I have in my sig. It was a little too harsh for my taste and for where I live so I went for the Koni/Stasis setup I have now. As far as snow, I left at the same height for the winter with no problem. I drove for a couple miles in 8 inches of unplowed powder with no problems, 8 inches of slush on the other hand would be a problem. I am a skier and travelled to VT many times in storms with no problems whatsoever. Just watch out for the ice chunks that come off of other cars wheel wells. They can be bad for a stock A4 too though.

Bilsteins on low perch, with Neuspeed Race Springs. Hard as a rock. I'm a rail rider by summer, snow plow by winter.

So that's as low as they go?

    That's not bad.

I'm looking for all out handling though, with only some regard for comfort. Is this a good setup, or should I look into a coilover?

    Remember, I'm a baller on a budget ;P

Baller and Budget do not belong in the same sentence.

Also, the angle of my pic was taken low, so it really gives the impression of more gap that there is. When you stand next to my car it almost looks like my wheels are in the gap. I also only have 17s.

These handle great, but from what I've heard they do not compare like coilovers. Also, there is almost NO ride comfort, unless you drive on glass roads. You have to remember that most coilover kits have adjustable dampening, and perfectly matches spring/shocks. Whenever you piece together them yourself you lose the adjustability. But, over the years many have determined good matchups. Just search around and see.

o1A4 - Yes, there are tire wear issues. You cannot ever get a perfect alignment if you're lowered. But, if you rotate your tires, then you get nearly full life out of them no problem. I have not burned up that many tires, and I have not had many issues with it, since I rotate them. But you certainly will go through tires a bit faster than usual if you drop past the stock sport height, since the stock setup cannot adjust far enough for a proper alignment.
