Could potentially have a big problem

Last time I tried to change my oil myself only to realize I couldn't get off the drain plug. I took it to a local shop and asked them to finish the job. Which they did for free being I supplied all the parts and they guys are really nice there. That was 3000 miles ago. I've since tried to change my oil again and still can't get the drain plug off. I had to take it to another shop because the guys who did it originally are closed for the month. This shop that I took it to can't get the drain plug off either. They tried to remove it but broke their wrench on the plug.
Now the car is flashing "INSP" when I start the car. I checked my oil and its black. I made an appt. with the dealer but the soonest they can get me in is next Monday. I'm worried about causing damage. What would you suggest?

    Your fine, don't worry.

The inspection light is completely unrelated to dirty oil. And, you could probably drive another 3,000 on that oil. I change mine about every 5,000.

The inspection light is just a reminder light and is programmed to go off every however many miles. You can reset it with a VAG-com, or just ignore it.

Do you think when you took your car to the first shop that they really changed the oil?? Because if your only at 3000 and some change, I don't think it would be too bad to drive it for another week. But if 3000 miles ago the oil wasn't changed, then that could be bad, because that would be what like 6k and change. Is there any way you can drive another car?? If not, I would only drive where I absoutly have to.

At this point I would go and buy the proper wrench for the job so, you don't have to rely on these other places.

Also, I'd buy a new drain plug too, because the current one might be stripped out by now.

That's probably a good idea. I have the proper tools to change the oil but the plug is on so tight I can't budge it. I'll order a new plug.

    Thanks guys

Use a breaker bar. Makes it much easier.

turn your car upside down and drain through the fill cap....

but seriously, 3000 miles on the same oil will not kill your car - but do try to get this fixed soon. next time you have the drain plug out, be sure to check the condition of it. also make sure that the threads are clean and in good condition. The drain plug does not need to be torqued like a head bolt or lug nut - it just needs to be snug enough that it won't come loose.

For some reason, when my dealer does the oil changes, they freakin tighten it too much... there's no need.

    good luck!

Im gonna newb it out on this one. I thought with the synthetic oil it only needed to be changed when the service light came on in the dash. Does it really need to be changed every 3000 like other vehicles?
I have only had the car for 7k miles, and have had the oil changed but Im still kinda new to audi services.

FYI: a sensor/light cannot know what condition your oil is in. Do not follow the interval light, unless it was properly set to go off at the mileage you wanted it to.

I use Mobil 1, and I change every 5,000, at the longest. 3,000 is overkill.
