Exclamation E05 on Dynojet Dyno Results... That you won't believe!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I took my car to the All Wheel Drive (AW Junkies) dyno day yesterday and strapped her down to the Dynojet. As most of you know my car made 221 CHP and 140 WHP on the MAHA Dyno. EuroCode and I personally got a lot of shit from people like "Jeff." Not Jeff Moss, but some guy who posts as "Jeff." Well sir, in front of the eyes of Jeff Moss, our independent witness, my car put down a solid 214.9 WHEEL HORSEPOWER and 244 WHEEL TORQUE. So who is butt hurt now? My car was supposed to be weak. Everyone there didn't care about what I would pull until I made my first run. Then when they all realized that I was putting down more then the WRX's that were there, they started paying attention. Just for comparison, a stock STi (Claim 300 HP from factory) was putting down 245 WHP. So my "pathetic" A4 was only 31 WHP less then an STi.

I will post the graph as soon as I can get it scanned.

    Yep,
I was there to witness that. Our chins dropped once we saw the results.
Dave did excellent job on your car.

ok. So do you believe it; from 140WHP on the MAHA to 215WHP on the Dynojet? These WHP differences between the dynos is huge. Was anything altered with the E05?

Maybe try the "Butt-Dyno" method of calculating mass, speed, distance,.. to see how that comes out?

Do I believe it? I believe most if not all tuners base their claims on Dynojets. I believe a stock STi put down 245 WHP on the same dyno on the same day. An Evo was on right before me and he put down 235. He had an exhaust, but other then that he was stock.

By the way, my car was in the exact same setup. 91 octane gas, same boost levels same timing, same everything.

    Derrick,

Very nice my friend, it does show the major differences between the two dyno's, but I already knew your car was fast and made good power. Wish I could have been there. Good work Brotha. Clear corner day?

    Dejan,

Wish I could have met up with you as well, all this emailing back and forth it would have good to put a face to it. I'm glad to hear your car is running better. I still think you can get more power out of it!!! How was the drive home? How's she feel?

Again, it just goes to show you that dyno results mean nothing unless you have a stock 1.8t to in two conditions:

    1. Compare to your own stock car on a previous day with similar conditions.

    2. Copmpare to another stock car on the same day.

I can't wait to see the dyno's occur on the same day with different cars to see how things match up.

No worries man well meet up next time.
To be honest I'm more than happy with the car now. Car puts down some serious power now, and top end is just amazing.
Yesterday was a long way but it was worth it. Shouldn't have waited this long.
It took Dave 2 minutes to figure out why the car was pinging and fix the problem, when NS had it for 10 days, once again 10 days and couldn't take care of it.
I'll do more detailed write up when i get some rest.

Feeling and being are to different things. To be honest with you man, I don't think the test pipe and FMIC will make up the gap our cars had when we ran them, but it would be interesting to see.

So Eurocode didn't get the test pipes and FMICs in stock for this weekends Dejan visit?

Yes they did and they were installed on his car. But be the time we got done installing them we were all too tired to go for more runs. We ran our cars before they were installed and there was a huge gap. One that I think was too big for the test pipe and FMIC to close. We will have to run again to see.

Do you think it would be best to just stick with the dual side I/C set up then with the test pipe or would you still recommend getting the FMIC and test pipe?

I have the test pipe and it is a vital power maker! Just ask Dejan!!! I will be swapping to the FMIC this coming weekend because the dual sides just get heat soaked.

I agree, and it doesnt even matter, all I care about is that my car doesnt ping any more and makes way more power than it did.
After beeing "ping sensitive", having "tight" engine and driving a "lemon" It feels awesome now.

That stuff is too funny man. I wish you had them on tape saying that stuff. If someone called my car a lemon AFTER installing their kit, I think I would punch them in the face. I guess your car got loosened up, became less sensitive, and made lemonade after EuroCode got through with it.

I HATE bullshit excuses the tuners give when they can't fix their own kits even after having the car for 10 days at their shop. Or having the kit out for months with no tune (PES T28). It's so funny that EuroCode can tune both kits and neither is theirs. They fixed the T28 and it is now beating M3s. They fixed the SK04 and it now doesn't ping and pulls like mad.

    Rich,

I just saw this post. What you're asking is impossible. I can't keep a stock A4 tucked under my arm just so I have something to compare every time I dyno my car. I wish I could keep a spare around but my check book won't let me. The "proof" or comparison for yesterday was the stock STi putting down 245. That car makes 300 crank from the factory, so there is my baseline.

Thanks Anthony. It really feels good to be able to show what our cars can do. Both Dejan and I now have realy nicely tuned, strong A4 1.8T's. And we all (A4 owners) won some respect from the Subie and Evo guys on Saturday. They were really impressed. In fact, even the guys running the dyno were really impressed. They even used the word 'shocked!'

BTW - dynojests are known to be the most "optimistic" dynos out there. Here (in Europe) noone takes dynojet readings too seriously. IMO the most accurate dynos are Dyno Dynamics, Maha and Mustang.
I already dyno'd my car on the MAHA this is just for comparison. You have to understand that here in the US, the Dynojet is very popular and most tuners use it for their claims. Like Neuspeed.

Wow, the graph looks great. Torque seems to come on pretty quick to me. Good job. Derrick, David at Ecode and the E05 gets a thumbs up from me!

As far as Saturnine's ( ), it may be because it wasn't really necessary to say some of that stuff like the butt hurting statement. Most of the last half of the post wasn't necessary IMO.

Regardless, If I make it back to Cali again sometime soon, I wanna ride. Actually I better not cause I'll end up spending money I don't have to get one!

Did you read that assholes post to me? I never said anything to him, he just posts my name and goes off about how butt hurt I am about my E05. Even though I never said anything bad about it. I see that no one jumps all over him for his stupid posts but if I reply all of a sudden people feel they have to make statements. I think I will just stop posting here. It seems when I try to be helpful and post my results all I get is a bunch of flack. Some people really need to grow up.

Sorry you feel that way man. My intentions were/are not to give you flack. I just thought all that arguing back and forth was over with between ya'll. I like this forum for the info. And that's why I like reading your posts. You give good info and real results. I'm pretty sure most everyone who reads this forum (or at least who posts in it) is on your side. I am. Results speak louder than words and hopefully the other guy will realize that you won.

Thanks Bro, I appreciate that. Sometimes I feel like posting here is not worth it anymore because of people like "Jeff."

Great results Derrick! Hard to believe the differences between the two dynos. I think the air intake temps on the MAHA run definitely affected the numbers. I'm no expert on reading dyno graphs but it looks like power started to drop above 5k rpms on the MAHA run--really looked like something was happening, like boost was being pulled back. On the dynajet plot power stayed strong until just above 6k, like it you would expect on a car that was tuned properly.

I really want to get this kit now!

Oh by the way. I had my car dyno'd on a dynojet up here in Denver back in January. In a couple weeks I am going down to Dallas and I plan on dynoing on a Mustang dyno while there. I'll be on the same exact setup as before so we can see difference between Dynojet and Mustang.
