I am thinking of a Stage 2 upgrade from them.

Anyone care to share their experience with the Dahlback performance software upgrade? I've heard lots of great things about them.

Since I see you are in Norcal, you can give us a call @ New Dimensions. We handle the west coast for TJM/Dahlback.

do you guys just sell Dahlback's K04 software alone? Or do you have to go their route with everything?

    Mark,

I just talked to Randy at TJM. They do have K04 software that you can use with your existing hardware. They're extremely flexibile.

In fact, here are some other points I gathered from him:

    1. He has 93 octane programs for all years, but the 91 octane numbers will not be the same as that posted on the website.

    2. Free upgrades and files custom applied to what you have on your car... thus if I add a injectors down the line, they'll just send the new program for it.

    3. They have K04 programming, which means that I can install a K04 and have them send over their programming for it.

    4. They have a custom K04 which probably will put out about 260-280hp based on their testing.

    5. They have custom intake and exhaust manifolds which will increase hp 30hp or so.

    6. They have a K26 kit ready for all years... 7500 but 360 HP !!!!

In fact, they already have 2005 software done. They just need to test it. That's the advantage of being TUV approved and also working closely with the manufacturer.

    Mark, same for a chip.

    799 + labor/tax.

They have a lifetime upgrade for free policy with the chip as I mentioned. They sell you the socket and they have the local tuner download the software onto the socketed chip... this makes it easier to upgrade the software quickly.

In fact, you can buy a whole host of hardware seperate from Dahlback and then have them give you the software they have for it.

Yes you can. I understand that APR uses TT injectors also and that is what their stage 2+ software is coded for. You just need to talk to TJM Motorsport or New Dimensions about it and they should be able to get you the program you need.

    I'll take #6 please

And 260-280hp for "custom" K04. We'll see You know, Dahlbac sure sounds like the ultimate tuning experience; great numbers, very flexible,...etc. But I think a lot of this is coming from Europe and being converted over. Are they actually testing this stuff on the A4 B6 1.8t here in the US? And what about on 91 craptane? Also, I was told by another "tuner" that the Dahlbac/TJM A4 B6 wasn't that great at a recent East Coast show.

The only response I got so far from TJM was; "235hp on a A4 B6 with chip, injector and exhaust." I find that hard to believe. Plus, what they list online is for OEM 190hp A4's.

Lastly, those "93 octane" programs would have to be "retuned" for 91, unless you want timing retard and pinging - like me. It's not as simple as saying that you'll see lower numbers, because that's only part of it.

Sorry for being a bugger here, but I'm just a little tired of all the A4 B6 engine upgrade claims and the even bigger disappointments/issues that have followed.
