Car not pulling like it first did with the chip

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
First my car was surging a little bit between 2-3 rpm. I have a 1.8tqm w/Giac chip btw. Then I picked up a 710n and it solved the major surging. It still surges in the 4-5 range. The car also doesnt feel like its pulling like when it did when I first chipped. Not as much torque. Your question is probably was is my boost guage reading, well Im getting one right before waterfest. But im looking for something to solve this.

Not having much to go on here I'd ask the question, is it possible that you've just gotten used to the chip? I mean, I'll be the first to tell you my car doesn't "feel" the same as it did when I first got the chip. It still pulls hard and the boost has remained consistant, but if the seat of my pants answered that you'd get a different response.

However, it is entirely possible you have some sort of a problem. You say you experience some surging. I don't have a GIAC, so me not experiencing this doesn't say much. I think the best place to start is with the boost gauge. Then, look for some leaks.

Whats the weather like down there? Humidity and heat kill the 1.8t's performance.

Sounds like what happened to my car. Turns out it was a dead MAF sensor.

i would check the hose that goes from the bpv to the throttle body, when i got my car chipped it didnt do anything cause that hose has a leak in and and i replaced it and it doubled my boost, hoses on the 1.8ts mine as well be made out of wet paper....they rip and leak so easily start up ur motor and listen for leaks or spray some soapy water and check for leaks

I'm not aware of any hose that goes from the BPV to the TB. I think you mean the one that goes to the intake manifold.
