Ok guys. I am having a huge problem w/ my gas. I'll fill it up and have 350 miles to empty for about 4 days of normal driving. Then once it gets to half way full, it lasts like one day. I took it to the dealer and they claimed that it was b/c I pumped Shell gas, which I dont rememeber so whatever. However, they said they would look at it and charge $130/hr for labor just to check it out. Its obviously not covered under warranty!!! So what do I do??? One of my friends also has this problem!! We're so pissed!! Help please!!

what do they mean "not covered under warranty" and "it was b/c you pumped Shell gas"... that's the most ridiculous explanation i've ever heard... please someone tells me it's just stealership bullsh!t talks...

so what the total mileage you get on a full tank of gas? you might have a faulty fuel guage...
i think i get about 500-600kms (300-350miles) on a full tank in city driving...

Fuel gauge and/or sending unit problems are not rare in our cars.

Yea I dont know if you guys heard about that. But at least in the south eastern coast shell gas was contaminated and was messing up the fuel gauges, etc.

I wasn't aware of that but it don't think it changes anything. How can a dealer know for sure that bad gas was the cause of the problem without even looking at things up close? I'm willing to bet that even AFTER looking at things up close it is really hard to prove that bad gas was the cause. Remembre that the burden of proof is on the dealer.

I don't think you should be stuck with this problem or have to pay to have it fixed...so don't walk -- run to another dealer. Hopefully he will act responsibly and take care of you.

Man, it really pisses me off when dealer behave like such jerks.

Report them to Audi, they will loose cars for next year. Hit them where it hurts most. Plus the normal rate is $95 an hour!

Eww who uses Shell gas anyway. Amoco or Sunoco 94 for me only. BTW getting 300-350 on a tank is normal. Maybe that last day when you are on half a tank you step on the gas a bit more.
