What's so wrong w/ the SK04?

I remember reading realiability issues about the SK04 from Neuspeed. Aside from the disappointing #'s, why should I not get it? I heard that the pchip has issues in the '03 B6, is this true? I honestly don't mind the low output #'s, I just worry about a reliable turbo that I won't have to worry about everyday while driving to work. I don't want any pinging issues, running rich, not being able to start my car, blown gaskets, blown hoses and everything else that you would worry about when you install a $3000 upgrade in your car.
So basically, WTF should I do, just for for the K04-15?

i think when upgrading to a bigger turbo you will have problems. some more than others. constant tuning to maximize power or to make it an everyday car. problems still come up.
thats why you play the game.

Cool, good to hear. Oh, by the way, I only had about 4000 miles on my car when I installed the T28. The same exact kit that smoked the M3! I sold it to David before I found REVO could tune it.

i'm in san francsico and i will drive up there to get the kit installed and hopefully meet all you guys. thats the plan.

well, besides a torn hose, and a severely clogged cat, my kits up and running. not that it's dyno'd yet, but the new turbo feels much more solid. it pulls hard till redline and hasn't dissapointed yet. it's no stage 3, but after all said and done, was well worth the upgrade. the 03' is actually what they tested the kit on and has had the most success within the kit's they've sold.

Called them up a week ago and the '04 software should be out by the end of the summer.

i'm from Sf also and thinking about getting the kit. But the shop still hasn't replied my email about the install cost yet.

The install should cost right around $500. If you buy the test pipe to go with it, then he will install the test pipe for free.
