It happens at low speeds and goes away when above 15 mph or so , and its not a constant grinding it like every 2 seconds at 5mph then every second at 10 mph then gone at 15mph , i checked the heat sheild and everyhting looks to be okay ... but still the grindning noise

    My guesses are
1 pads are not flat on rotors
2 something wrong with your bearings
3 your ABS is being triggered for some reason

I'm having similar symptoms right now. I changed my rotors/pads over 1,000 miles ago. I've had this sound for about 500 miles or so. At first I thought bad wheel bearing, but I changed it and the sound still remains. Mine has not got progressively worse, so that leads me to believe it's not a bearing issue. I'm still trouble-shooting, but I have not had time.

I'm thinking I may have a slightly bent rim, but I don't feel any issues at high speeds, so I'm still not sure.

doubt its a warped rotor, check to make sure it's mounted properly and retighten everything, you may be correct in that it's not spinning flat and the grinding is the pad dragging a lot it. The fact that it has gotten better might be because the pad as worn at the spot where it was grinding the rotor

after installing, did you break them in properly? what type of rotors did you install? pads? my guess would be warped rotor also. can you tell if its from both sides or just one? did you use anti squeal compound?
