    Euro Front Bumper and Sportec

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone here ever installed the Sportec front spoiler using a euro two-piece front bumper? How is the fitment? I am assuming it should fit without the problems associated with the U.S. front bumper?

I have a friend who has a front euro bumper for sale, and I thought it would be the better way to got if I decide on the Sportec front, rather than having to cut my U.S. front bumper.

Anyone have pics of a euro bumper with the Sportec front spoiler?

    Thanks.

hum... i don't think there are 2 versions of the front bumpers... i do believe both NA and Euro are the same... but i might be mistaken...

also there is only one set of instructions from Sportec, there is no mention in there of differences btw Euro and NA, and cutting is required as per the instructions...

imo you would waste your $$$ in buying that bumper...

actually find out what the part number is and also why your friend is calling it a Euro bumper... the only difference i can think of would be the license plate mounting that may exist on the Euro A4...

Actually, from what I understand, ,the Euro B6 front bumper is two pieces vs. the US/Canada bumpers which is one piece. This explains why the Sportec front spoiler only comes with the lower part. Same thing with the Kerscher.

The Sportec front is obviously made for the two piece euro bumper. With a Euro Bumper, all you have to do is take off the lower bumper part (as opposed to cutting it with our bumpers) and install the Sportec.

I'm just not sure if it would be a better fit, or is there still some tweaking involved. From one of your earlier posts about the fact that the Sportec front fitment can vary depending on the mould it comes from, I would imagine that you still have to play around with it to get to fit right. Just the way it goes with aftermarket spoilers I guess.

Are you sure? I though the US bumpers were one piece. If that is the case, then why do people have to cut their front bumpers in order to put the Sportec Front spoiler on?

they don't have to cut the bumper, they have to cut whats underneath the "lower" bumper. Something about different mounting points or something.

2 pieces... i've got the Sportec on the Avant so i know for a fact the stock front bumper is 2 pieces...

now as far as the quality of the Sportec products goes, it's pretty much the luck of the draw... i heard many people saying they didn't have anything to say about it, while i also heard a couple of people complaining about it...

bottom line is it will require some work to get it to fit right, just be prepared for that... but it looks soooooooooooooooo good...

if you want me to email you the Sportec instrustions so that you can take a look at them and see for yourself, let me know your email addy...

The sportec front bumper is a 1/2 piece and the us bumper is two piece you may be confusing the rear bumper which is one piece for the US and two piece for the euro spec.

US/Euro Front bumper the same cept the euro has an indentation for the euro plate. But that is all.

My U/S front bumper is 2 pieces w/ no indentation for Euro plate or any plate. Stupid dealer drilled it for US plate though...
