I dont know if I'm out of the circle of secrets or something, but which one of the GIAC chips is the X chip. Is it the regular one that I can get from PES? Or is it the K04 one?? im confused!

X chip is for the DBW B5s. It's a K03 program.

But in all seriousness, it was the guy's first post and most people don't think to use the search feature right away. They also have no idea how extremely common it is to chip their cars (or how common it is for people to ask about them)

i just chipped my 01 a4 with apr and love it. i would suggest staying with apr or giac, seem to be the favorites, best support, least problems. a suggestion would be to check the various for sale sections here and at audiworld, maybe even ebay, i got a whole ecu chipped for 300 bucks, just had to pull mine out and put the new one in. that way you can keep your stocker, just in case. make sure to check which ecu code you have. also plan on changing your diverter vavle, do a search on that too. welcome to the club and good luck with it.
