    Who would've thought...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
...that installing a DV in an '04 would be such a pain in the ass.

Thank you, Audi, for locating the DV in the most inconvenient spot. The hose clamps are impossible to take off without a sawzall.

Would anyone in SoCal/OC be interested in helping me install my DV, installing it for me, or giving me any tips?

    Thank you

Rhino Ramps + underside = the only way to install.

Going through the bottom is the only way to go. It still doesn't make it any fun though

it's not all that hard either though, once you have the factory clamps off.

Use some heavy duty wire cutters. Grab an open end of the clamp, and TWIST til you have enough of a gap between, then use a flathead and pry it. Or you can just cut the "lock" piece that is holding the thing together w/ the cutters. I am in LA/SGV area if you need a hand.

Good luck man. Not quite the install that you expected when you got the DV a week and a half ago huh? I guess if you're going to break off that stock clamp, make sure you have a replacement first.
