Let me hear 'em! I usually read classic literature when I have time to read, but looking for anything else decent.

I was with family this weekend, and one of them had this book in the bathroom called "Speed Tribes."

The book talks about the underground world in Japan and was VERY interesting. I didn't get a chance to finish it, but I will buy it this week. Some of areas discussed are the Yakuza and the Japanese porn world, such as "Choco Bon-Bon," a japanese porn star who was known (and got his name) because his balls show up black on the screen. It is somewhat random, but very interesting.

If you want a more serious book, I have also been reading "The Professor and the Madman." It is a true story of this civil war doctor that went crazy, but was instrumental in the making of the Oxford Dictionary. He was a major contributor, but it was not known until a lot later that he was in a psycho ward. Again, interesting and different.

I heard about this book, it was summarized (to me) as: the Oxford folks were starting up their dictionary (book) and they needed a lot of information on the origin of words. So they put out an ad in the paper (or something) and finally this (dr.) guy wrote in a whole bunch of info on the origin of various words. They trace his return address and its from a mental house. So the moral of the story is, even if you are legally crazy, you can still contribute to society and business.

Read the Harry Potter books, they are better than the films. If you havent seen the films, read the books instead. When I read them (before films), I got an impression that the scenes/situations/environments were more dark(er), grim, and menacing vs the films portral as a cute children-ish fantasy.

Yeah, so what if I read the Harry Potter books, you want to fight about it? :P

Yeh this book is damned good...but the one before it..."Angels and Demons" is better IMO. This ones about the illuminati and how they basically plan on ruining the catholic religion...damned good book.

Deception Point by Dan Brown..ehhhh not as good as his others.

    Fast Food Nation: MUST READ

For the ladies: The Devil wear prada

Biography: Ulysses S Grant is a damned good book

Music/ Bio: The journal of Kurt Cobain ( the actual journal) almost uneditted - Insightful

Political: My Life by Bill Clinton - Overrated but worth taking a look at, interesting viewpoints especilly from a man that has so much knowledge of the current situation at hand.

read 'em all already, waiting for number 6...they just released the name, it's "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"...

anyway, I've seen a lot of people with the DaVinci Code, maybe I'll look into that, and the Yakuza one sounds good too..keep 'em comin!

Also, if anyone is into that sort of thing, I just finished reading a bunch of Sherlock Holmes mysteries...they're awesome! I suggest you look into them...

The Lexus and the Olive Tree - Thomas Friedman.

Good book, a bit on the serious side about globalization... But an interesting read nevertheless. You get to learn a lot and he has good ideas and puts it in an easy to read format.
