    Angry Fooking dipstick tube broke!!!!!!!!

    So I went to chech my oil level and the fooking oil dipstick plastic tube thing shattered. I stink a few small pieces of plastic might have fallen in. I think they were about 1mm in size. What shoud I do?

    I wouldn't worry about it the screen in the oil pump pickup will stop it from getting sucked thru the motor. It should come out if you the oil.

    And as far as the tube goes thats a common problem just go to the dealer and get a new one it will snap right on.

    Common problem, happened to me too. New part costs a couple of bucks.

    I'd change the oil though.

    ahhhh this same thing happned to me, i think i picked it up at the dealer for 6 bucks or soooo..... good luck getting it off tho, its sure a bitch and a half.

    It gets so hot there that the plastic degrades pretty quickly. I have had to replace mine also.

    Mine finally snapped 94k. I have a new one waiting to go in. I've just been lazy in putting it in. I just hope removing the current one isn't too much of a PITA.

    They are a POS I dont know why VW/Audi still uses them I ve had them on my 85 jetta, 87 Scirocco 16V, 88 GLi, 91 corrado, and 99.5 A4 same freakin part.

    Yep, same thing happened to me the day before I went on vacation last year. Very common problem. Just buy a new one, and change your oil. You'll be fine. And yes, you can drive it to the dealer to get one. It won't hurt it at all, assuming you have a dealer fairly close to you...

    I am 99.99999% sure the VW part will work. The one for my Avant looks to be the same exact part as my Mk2 ('87) Golf. Give them a call and go pick it up at lunch...
