Those things can be really quick with a few simple mods but they are complete POS's when it comes to quality and reliability, even when they're stock.

i had a hard time reading this post. i agree though, mitsubishi does not have a very good reliability record on their US-version cars. I wonder how long an evolution will last before giving up and dying?

all of them have 4 tail pipes. Yes, quality is a issue with them. But they look sweet and can be fast as hell with a few simple mods.

My last car was a 3kGT. Base model. It was much more ballsy than my Audi, had a lot more torque. The car was not a total POS. In fact, it was a '94 and I never had a major problems with it at all.

VR4s are nice, and fast as balls.

But, it was not nearly as nice as my Audi. Totally different cars though, and not really comparable.

From what i've heard the base models aren't that bad but one of my buddies has a vr4 that is constantly in and out of the shop. He was also running some pretty heavy boost on that thing too.

actually..corolla is gas efficient, reliable, easy to maintain, cheap, etc. Can you say any of that about Audi? If not having AWD and luxury features dont bother your sister then think your sister made a good choice...

anyways...back on topic. I have a friend that has a one of those and it runs 11s...pretty damn fast if you ask me

Buddy of mine has a VR4 modded out for show and go.
He was in the June or July issue of Import Tuner. Thing looks good and is quick too. But they are heavy SOBs. If they were lighter then, damn!

I had a 1994 SL (non turbo). I did the basic intake, exhaust, pulleys, suspension mods to it and it was a pretty capable car. It was NEVER in the shop, very reliable.

I have 3 friends with VR4's. One had a 1991 which was in the shop a lot for engine and tranny shit. The other was a 93 that is never in the shop and lastly a 95 which is also never in the shop.
