    Question 2000 S4 Turbo noise?

I've had my new (someone else's used) 2000 S4 for about 4 weeks now. I've had to put new tires and rotors/brakes on. Yesterday, I finally got the nerve to push the car hard in first gear. At a high rpm, just before I got ready to shift, I could hear a sound coming from the engine that didn't sound good to me. To me, it sounded like the turbo bearings were rattling. But, it may be the diverter valves. As I understand it, when you have too much boost (high rpm condition?) the diverter valves open and blow off excess air.
Is this what I was hearing? Or is something else going on?
Once I started to drive "normal" again, the car sounded normal!

    Thanks

you were probably hearing the turbos spooling up. and i believe that boost tapers off as RPMs increase.

Take it to a local gathering and have some people hop in and cruise around w/ u to hear the noise - they will know. What kind of rotors did you get and from where? How much? I am in need.

you're probably little paranoid after reading about S4's ailments from others, just like I was when I moved from A4 to S4.
... S4 has definitely more noticable turbo spool up noise compared to my A4.. I had some people advise me and all said that the car is fine, just more pronounced sound during spooling.
Makes sense since it has 2 turbos as opposed to 1 in the A4 after all.. double the turbos, double the noise of the A4.

Definitely have someone experienced with an S4 listen to the sound, especially those who already replaced their turbos due to stock ones failing...those are the best testimonials.
