I bought my Yoko ES100s from Tire Rack for $141/ea. (235/40/18s). That's the best price I could find, especially since I didn't want to wait very long to get them.

Since you're looking at Edge Racing, check on the Falken 512s. They have a good reputation too. However, if you're running 18s and have anything over a 7.5" wide wheel, I'd go w/ 235/40/18s. The Falkens seem to run 'narrow'. Then again, I don't care for the stretched look. I like my wheels and tires to have the same width. No need to invite curb rash!

    Mike

Yeah I am running 8.5's. Not sure if the 235's would just invite more rubbing up front, though. I will check them out.

So do you rub now? What tires are you running? I have the Yokes in 235 w/ a 8.5" wide wheel. I do have some rubbing up front. I'm riding on Koni Yellows and Neuspeed Race springs.

I know MOOPS just bought a set of Falkens (225) for his Fliks (also 8.5" wide) and they are stretched much more than my Kumhos were (they were 225s).

Hope this makes sense! Also, on the Tire Rack, you'll be able to look up all of the specs, including width. Hope this helps!!!!

BTW, I love my Yokes so far! Nice in the rain and dry.

    Mike

I would really love to run the 235's but on the rims I had before I had 225 Kuhmos and even they rubbed. Of course, I still don't have the fenders rolled. That will happen for sure when I get the new tires. Yeah I understand all that you are saying. Just trying to get some ok tires at a good price.

Hmm, really? That's nuts. What suspension are you running? What offset were the other wheels?

My CHs have a 35mm offset, and w/ the 225 Kumhos, I didn't rub AT ALL, ANYTIME. It didn't matter how 'packed' my Avant was either.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely not doubting you. I'm just trying to figure out how you were rubbing and I never did.

BTW, good luck w. the tire purchase. I understand wanting to get a pretty good set of tires for a good price. I am in the same boat. I want great performance, but I also want a good price and good wear. You know, so my Daughter can have more! (OK, my wife too)

I am running Eibach/Bilsteins and I had the same wheels combo before. 18X8.5 with 35mm offset and 225 Kuhmos. I would rub a lot and the tires actually started to get some damage.

I hear you about the price and quality. Want something that is cheap, and will last longer than a couple months. My daughter has to have new shoes and dresses way too much! At least those are a lot cheaper than Audi parts!
