BOSE Stock Sound System-Question

The system is fantastic, the best stock system i have heard. Much better then the Harmon Kardon in BMWS.
BUT- the bass is easily blown, which i have successsfuly done. What would be best to do to get more bass without taking up trunk space. I heard the stock bose comes with a 10inch Bose sub. Could i somehow get 2 up there without a horrible sub box?

sorry i don't have any answers but i have a couple of questions. does this bose system come as the same package as in, say 2000 a4 with the bose system? the subwoofer, as well?

the stock bose system does not have a 10in sub. it has amped rear deck speakers 2 rear door panel speakers and 4" components with 1" tweeters up front. If trunk space is an issue you can install an 8" sub or a flat 10 in the spot on the side where the CD player is currently mounted, a good handful of people have made custom enclosures there and they are all very clean installs and retain all the trunk space.

It comes stock on the S4 and is sold as the "premium" sound system on the A4s. A 10in subwoofer definitely does not come with it (either the S4 version or the A4 version).

The Avants have a sub not the sedans...not sure if its 10" though...maybe 8???

Really? I never knew that but it would make sense, since the avants wouldn't have the rear deck speakers. I'm sure my premium bose system (sedan) did not come with a 10" sub.

how much are flat 10'' subs, and cost of installation...just curious
