Personally, I would never drive a car without an airbag, and I know most aftermarket steering wheels don't have one.

same here, i wouldn't feel comfortable driving around without an airbag in front of me, that my opinion too tho.

i got owned by an air bag too. It definitely will change your life. I would of smacked the wind shield hard if it wasnt for the bag. And i did have my seat belt on.

i took a shot from the seat airbag directly in the ribs last year. That sucked.

No, thankfully I'm fine. I just meant that it will shock the crap out of you when you get whacked in the face by it. It stuns you bad. And you'll never look at your steering wheel the same again. I have a complex about it, and I'm have a wierd phobia of it going off accidentally.

Like Frank, I also had my seatbelt on. It also makes you realize how vulnerable you are behind the wheel.

i have a momo wheel in my 94 jetta vr6. i removed the airbags to put it and an early 94 glovebox in. the early airbags were known to do as much harm as good. the 2nd and 3rd generation bags are much much better. if you're wondering how i know so much about airbags hurting people, i used to be a paramedic.

FWIW, my audi still has all of its airbags.

my father totalled his a6 and like 7 air bags went off. His side was blue from the side aibag, and neck hurt for weeks!

i got smack in the face with one once burned the crap out of my face but saved it from hitting things oh yeah and that dust $hit that it puts out is gross smells funny
