Tricks?

Is there any tricks or tips that i can do with my car. I have a 97 a4 1.8t Quattro but its an automatic with out TIP....so launching is not fun. i was wondering if anybody new how to get a good launch in my car or just fun tricks or ways to get better preformace. thanks!

I'm sorry, but I really don't get what you mean. There's really nothing you can do that will give you any meaninful change in the performance of your car unless you change it mechanically. These cars are not for ideal for drag racing unless they're heavily modified.

Get an S4 motor with tip and you won't have to use any tricks.

agreed, if you are just looking for fun things to do, wait till it snows and do AWD doughnuts. Or take your car offroading

I would say your best bet is to sell your car and look for a new one in the same price range that has what you want.

Also, what do you mean by S4 taillights (in your sig)? Both A4s and S4s use the same tails.

Yes, as do the 98.5, 99.0, and 99.5+ A4 models (but the pre-99.5 have the stripe in a different spot). I'm not trying to say you're wrong, I'm just saying the same tails come on the A4s and the S4s. I was just wondering why you listed that they were S4 tails in your sig, I thought maybe they were something different than you may have been told. No big deal.

Set up a ramp at about a 76 degree angle, and drive over it w/ just one side of the car and try to ride on two wheels ; )

If you turn your lights off at night, you can drive much faster. It adds power to the spark plugs. Get up to about 100mph, and turn off the lights. You'll really feel it in the seat of your pants.

You can also try jumping out the sunroof while doing it. The weight reduction will really increase the speed of the car. Just make sure you have a brick on the gas pedal before you make the leap.

Honestly, just keep being open an honest and ask questions, no matter how dumb they may seem. You can also find tons of info in the archives by searching.

First of all i bought my car with my own money too, so whats the deal. And i have an A4 not an S4, i wish mommy and daddy paid for my car but they didn't. I work 2 jobs to pay for this car and i also have to pay for my own insurance. I was joking about A4's and the tail lights. You are taking this way too far. I pretty much have the same car as you. I think before you start making this comments, think about how i am meaning it. If i hated A4's soooo much why would i buy one? I will let you think what you want about me and the way i think, cause your rude comments are not needed. i not once said YOUR car was crappy i said I have the crappy A4's, not YOU.
