Im tryin to install a B&M short shifter in my car and I have a couple of questions that I hope you guys can answer. First, my a4 is a 98 and I think that the dash has to be removed to acess two screws, how do I remove the dash. Also, what shift reduction should I use: 11%, 25% or 35%? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    TIA,
    John Andrew

You do not need to remove the dash.

Here is the instructions you can download.

thanks but I am pretty sure that that is a 99.5 or newer cuz the dash is different than mine. The piece above the shifter is not as big on my car.

Click here - use your part number to look up the install...

There are alot of installation instructions there. I'm sure you could use it to install it.

If you can't find it there, check on the other Audi forums Tech Articles. I KNOW there's one there for the strat SS.

It all depends on how short a throw you want. If you want it short as possible, I'd obviously go w/ 35%.

Re-post if you can't get it. If you want to take a short ride to Simpsonville, I'd be willing to help. It's less than an hour to my house from Abbeville - probably around 45 minutes.

I've been going to Greenwood over the past month to help install parts on a friend's Miata (suspension, roll bar). I can get to Greenwood in 50 minutes or less...

Thanks for the offer, its raining pretty hard here so I am gonna wait until tomorrow to finish it, but if I have trouble I might ride up there sometimes. Now that I have seen the detailed write-ups it should be pretty easy.

That's cool. I wouldn't mind helping, especially since I have a DIY SS waiting to be installed - probably Wednesday evening.

    Later,
