Alex Job Racing pilots Timo Bernhard and Marc Lieb drove their McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 RSRs to a first and second place GT class qualifying effort for Sunday's round two of the American Le Mans Series at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course. The Florida based team is well positioned to post its first victory at Mid-Ohio.

Timo Bernhard will pace the GT field after posting a time of 1:22.909 besting the previous track record by some almost two seconds. AJR driver Sascha Maassen had held the Mid-Ohio track record of 1:24.451 since 2001. "We worked through our setup program yesterday and today in practice and hit on a good combination just in time for qualifying. We picked up almost a half-second from our practice time in qualifying of which I thank the team and Michelin. I did make a mistake coming through turn nine trying to push to hard and spinning. We were having trouble with the starter so we had to be towed back to the pits. I am hopeful we can give Alex Job his first win here." Bernhard will start the car in tomorrow's race and then hand over to co-driver Jorg Bergmeister.

Teammate Marc Lieb in the number 24 car did a great job qualifying the Porsche in third position for his first visit to Mid-Ohio. "I was standing second for a while, but the Panoz went out and did a great lap. Second is a good start for Romain and I, although the gap to our other car is more than I would like. I think we can close the gap during the race, we have worked really hard to get our car handling on used tires. I really like this track, with the combination of fast turns it is really challenging. My favorite section is turn one, it is fast and there is a blind apex - great!"

"Marc did a really good job to qualify in third. He and Romain have worked hard with the team to make the necessary adjustments to the car to get up to speed at a new track, a testament to their professionalism," said Alex Job, team owner. "We have the Panoz in between us in second, congratulations to them. I hope they can be as competitive in the race. We will also have our hands full with the number 45 Porsche who has been fast all through practice. The GT race on Sunday should be full of excitement."

Round two of the American Le Mans Series will be June 27 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and televised on CBS Sports starting at 1:00 p.m EST.
