whats causes limp mode?

My car has stock tuning, baileys diverter valves, dar intake , and awe twin 1. I am clueless with why my car goes on and off limp mode.... What causes limp mode, and how do i fix it.

if the car is in limp mode i assume the engine light is on. Get it scanned and have a shop address the probelm

are you sure that your in limp mode ?..whats your boost pressure read ?

if you have a boost leak it will go into limp mode... same thing happend to me but when i looked at the engine i saw 3 or4 clamps blew off!! i got lucky you might have to go get a pressure test

my boost guage reads 5 psi in limp and around 8-10 normal

the engine light is not on... I am running 5 psi on limp and around 8 to 10 psi on normal

I mean has it always gone into limp mode, if not when did it start happening.

it happened last summer but once i chipped it, it went away.. Now im running stock tune , and for a while it was running great. Once i added the diverter valves it started to run on and off limp mode.

Well if it started when you put the diverter valves in i would say thats going to be what you should check, first make sure that all the clamps are tight. If that doesnt work try swapping the stock ones back in and see if that changes anything.

it's when your ecu senses you're boosting too much then the ecu kinda puts the turbo into a nap/sleep (limp) mode. you only boost up to 5psi in limp mode.

Cant the tranny also cause the car to go in to limp mode?

My passat did that once. Or did the tranny go in to limp mode.... Shiit i forget...

How long has your darintake been installed? Reason why i ask is because some of the MAFs on older cars have finicky connectors. This could be your problem. It won't throw a CEL but it will transpond just enough of a faulty reading to cause you to go into limp mode....So, giggle that bitch around and see if you can't get it into it's happy place....Limp mode=the ultimate fun killer so let the dance begin.

The lack of sexual stimulation for your car can be the culprit for your limp mode, try some race fuel or maybe humping a wrx or evo that is usually the fix
