Neuspeed pulley kit--in stock and ready to ship from Neuspeed

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I talked to Joseph @ Neuspeed and they stated the pulleys came in on thursday and are ready to ship out to dealers or directly to the customer. They stated that due to the massive amount of b6 owners that modify there car that they have stocked a massive amount to avoid a back order issue. I ordered one for my personal car and five for stock as I am sure there will be a high demand for the kit.
They are seeing 5-7 hp increase.

I will get the kit on monday and hopefully I will be able to get the car on the dyno by mid week.
I will post results as soon as possible.

Here is a pic of the kit--

    Okay--
I got the kit in and it is very clean as usual for Neuspeed parts. I am gonna run a new base line dyno, then install the kit and get the car back on the dyno. I will try to scan them in and post them asap.

I must have missed this thread earlier, but is this for a 3.0 or 1.8t?

Also can't wait to see your dyno plots and how installation goes.

Is this on the same dyno that saw 216 HP to the wheels for their SK04 kit? Anyway, post your results because I would trust that over the 'we're seeing 5-7 HP' crap from Neuspeed.

I will be testing a 2wd car on a dynojet 248c and I will make sure to do a baseline dyno on the same day so the actual gains reflected are true.
I always like to dyno the parts we sell to be accurate in hp gains when we talk to customers so we do not have to rely on manufacturer claims.
We have done a bunch of dyno testing on Evosport pulleys for BMW with good results so I expect the #'s to be pretty accurate.

No worries--I was thinking about you when I ordered and got a bunch for stock.

How is your trip to japan going.
don't forget to bring back cool stuff!!

The car was running fine but the body shop took it away so quickly after the install that I barely got to see the finished product. I guess the stereo shop is taking it right after the body shop and I should get the car back in a few days so i can hopefully install your OCT front mount intercooler--I can not wait to see it. I will try to schedule the pulley at the same time.

For some reason yopur fan is trying to stay on after the car shuts down. (it stays on long enough to drain the battery a bit so we will look over the car with Tyler to trouble shoot) I will keep you posted.

You need some new pics --the car looks better in person than it does in that pic.

The body shop you used re-installed the rear wing and it looks much cleaner now.

    Hey Rob-
Word is at Neuspeed that pulleys may be on the table for research and development for the 3.0 b6'ers.
    Keep your fingers crossed--

BTW--your car looked sick in the mag--congrats!!

    Okay--
I ran the baseline dyno run but ran out of time switching out the pulley to do the next runs. (damm it was a b#%ch swapping the pulley after the car was heated up on the dyno)

first dyno-----170hp and 199.6 torque at the wheels
second dyno--170hp and 200.1 torque at the wheels

approx 75-80 degrees ambient temperature during dyno runs.

These numbers are slightly lower due to the heavy Oettinger wheels. (31 lb each without tire)

    Now the bad news---
some idiot did not secure his tools in the bed of his truck (I am assuming) and while I was switching lanes I hit a small flat tool box at approx 80 mph. There was a big noise and the car got slightly airborne on the passenger side.
So it looks like the piece was low enough to only scuff the bumper but one of the Oettinger wheels and one of the tires look like they are toasted and I need to check the belly of the car for damage. AAARGHHH!!! SOME PEOPLE!!

I am going to inspect the car today and determine whether or not it is safe to run the car on the dyno before replacing the wheel/tire combination.

If all is good I'll have dyno results with the pulley and we are also going to test VP Motorsport 103 (103 octane unleaded street legal fuel) on the car after the regular run with the new pulley installed.

Okay--the car went on the dyno today and here are the results--

    171.4hp and 202.6 torque----

At first glance I was a bit disapointed --the peak gains were only 1.4 hp and 2.6 torque

Then I compared the few runs before the pulley to the new runs with the pulley installed and the gains in the mid-range were much better

There was a high of like 10.6hp at 3600rpm between two of the graphs but I think that was slightly due to heat soak-- the rest of the graphs showed anywhere from 1.4 hp to 7.6hp at 3000rpm to 5800 rpm. average was 3-4

the power gains seemed to drop at the top end.

I also did a quick run on the dyno with some vp motorspor 103 (103 octane unleaded gas)
I siphoned the gas in the car while still strapped on the dyno and the drove through the gears for about 2 minutes (got impatient)
    and then made a pass--
178.8 hp and 210.3 torque--but at like 30 plus $ for a 5 gallon drum that could become an expensive habit.

I think the car may have made more hp if the gas had been cycled through the system a bit longer cuz it felt great on the drive home with 5 gallons of 103 added to an almost empty tank.
