    Feeler: Carbon Dynamic Airbox

I will be testing out a different intake setup for a friend, and may no longer have need for this. This is a feeler for a CDA-BMC intake I had installed on my 99.5 1.8t . Personally I think it is one of the best intakes made for the B5 A4s. The carbon fiber housing conducts very little heat (a property of CF) so excessive heatshielding is not necessary (like most aftermarket intakes for the A4). After spirited runs the intake is still cool to the touch. The filter can easily be removed and cleaned with a recharge kit if necessary.

here is a link to my initial review of it when it was first installed Link.

I've only had it for about 6,000 miles. It's still like new. These were pictures taken when I installed it a few months back. I can snap some more pictures if people would like. The condition of the intake has not changed.

(the red duct tape was a temporary insulation used for a short road trip. It has since been replaced by proper ducting, however said cover will not be sold with the intake)
Also here is a picture of a CDA installed on a 2.8 . I cannot guarantee that this same airbox I'm selling is the same one in the picture, but they look very similar. If a 2.8 owner is interested, we can talk futher about it.

I'm selling the airbox, the crankcase filter, and a MAF housing. The crankcase filter, airbox, and MAF housing retail for over $300+shipping. I'd be willing to sell it all for $200.

I'll know if I'm selling it indefinitely in a week or so. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

The sound difference is rather minimal, however with metalic piping you may notice much more of a difference. There is a very noticable performance difference. The car pulls a bit harder and throttle response is definitely improved. You can literally blip the throttle. This airbox also makes it easy to run a flex pipe down to the bumper to make it a CAI. This is by far more of a performance mod than a "show" mod. Some enthusiasts with the CDA claimed a 10hp improvement on their 2.8.

Evo intakes sell for $200, and with a metal BPV ($100) you can probably get a BOV sound. But with the horrible heatshielding it comes with, you'll just be sucking in hot air. So for $300 you'll have a hot air intake and BOV noise :-/
I'd go with the CDA-BMC instead.
