For 100 octane that is I have been running this lately to see how the MTM Stage 2 runs. At first I had about 50/50 of 91/100 octane and the car seemed to improve in terms of power and less pinging. I'm not sure where the octane level was with this 8-9 gls of 100 octane mixed into a full tank with 91 octane, but I'm sure it was above 94 octane. Anyways, now with pure 100 octane running, it is much better with power and from what I can tell, no audible pinging. I want to try and do a MAHA dyno to see what it is producing though. Would be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes.

No answers yet from JHM/MTM as to why my Stage 2 isn't delivering on 91 octane though. Mike at Ikon has been very helpful though, looking into it and contacting JHM.

If the 100 octane cured the audible pinging, then the timing is too advanced. That is a dead give away for to much timing.

Now if you could only get JHM/MTM to subsidize your fuel costs to the tune of, let's say $2 per gallon, you'd be a happy mtm customer for life!

You think they would got for that?

But all joking aside I really hope you get either the advertised horsepower or your money back.

When Drew originally used his Prodiag, we saw 3-11 degrees of timing retard taking place on 91 octane. Then, when I took it to Marc at AMS for the MAHA dyno, the timing was set back all the way, and then gradually increased. It was set to 124 on the last two runs (whatever that works out to be). It ran better and for the most part, cured the hesitation/jerkiness in 1st and 2nd, but it still pinged. Only after running pure 100 octane, did it seem to get rid of the pinging (but I can't be totally certain of that w/o vagging it again).

You suck! Gas here in Cali has been so high the past months (~$2.65), last month I was in Vegas and saw that $3.95 price, I ended up just filling up the whole tank with the 100octane. Lost all my money at the casinos, might as well make the drive back home more pleasant.

Race gas down my street used to be $4.65, now it's at $5.69 =(

Craps at MGM Grand. I won lots there. Lost a bunch on my way home at Paris. Won it all back at Bally's. What a roller coaster.

Yes. Same at the one in Newport Beach too. I'm back to running 91 octane though - using Shell V-Power

what are the cross roads for the Shell in Newport Beach where there is 100 octane? Is it the one on Jamboree and San Joaquin by Fashion Island?
