What is the best way to clean high polished wheels? i know that this can be a very challenging feat, since the surfaces can be scratched by just about anything. if you have any advice on what the best way is to clean these i would greatly appreciate your pearls of wisdom. i think we need a detailing forum again...

I had high polished rims on my last truck. I used Mothers Billet Aluminum polish. If they get really bad you can use a buffing wheel and a more abrasive polish.

that's sick... either he had a lot of it saved in a jar, or he's got small wheels... or loads of it.

if you really want to not have to polish send it out to get clear coated with a UV resistant clear coat...

i was wondering more about how to clean them on a more regular basis... should i use soap and water or just water? similarly, how to dry em without scratching em up more and more with each wash.

I concur. But only for the center portion - not the lip. Also look into the Ceramic coating process that Angstrom Wheels uses (sounds very intriguing).

If you still need an aluminum polish though, I've used Flitz with good results.

You should be able to get it at a local auto parts store. Not everyone had it when I bought it, but it has been out for a while now. I think I bought mine at Kragen. Should be able to pick some up at Pep Boys, Napa, etc.

surprised no one said they use p21s wheel cleaner. I use that if they are heavily soiled, and I maintain the lip with The new Mothers Billet Aluminum polish. It works terrific. The Eagle One billet works great to but harder to find.
    buy my wheels!

Mothers works fine on my HRE rims, have used wadding polish when really stained; also I use Zymol cleaner wax in between to "prevent"...
