I have a 2002 A4 1.8t with stock halogen, How do I go about converting to xennon and what would be the cost? Is it easy to install ? Anything hard to do? What ecodes would I need? Does ebay sell these? I need help on what to do.

    thanks

Yeah, I don't know jack about lighting and I also have the same questions. I have a 2002 with stock halogens too. You can have Ecodes without going HID right? Do you just change US spec housings to Ecode housings?

I sold over 100 of these on this forum and Audiworld. You can ask around here and people would tell you that it is very easy to do so.

Autoleveling is built into the headlights. But since you dont have Autoleveling function on Halogen, it will be there but not work.

If the '02 is the same as the '03, then it will be plug-n-play. I have an '03, which came with Halogen. I upgraded to Halogen E-Codes first. Then I upgraded to Xenon's with "Complete OEM HID S4 E-Codes" from EPi. They were pretty expensive ($1200 is what the price worked out to, but I traded mine back). EPi no longer does retail for this as far as I know. I also heard that you can find them elsewhere for around $850 brand new. Check with Ikon Motorsport , VAGParts.com, LLTEK,... and some other dealers for pricing (to get an idea what to expect). Some have bought them on ebay.de (but I have also heard of people getting ripped off, so be careful).

Removal/installation is simple; there are two Torx30 screws on top and two others at the lower rear, at the R & L of the headlight housing. You need to remove the air intake plastic snorkel on the passenger side. Driver side, nothing. Once you have removed the two top screws and ONLY LOOSENED the rear screws, slide the headlight unit out an inch or so and unplug it. Then slide the new ones in, plug them in, push it in tight and tighten the screws.

You'll also want some new turn signal bulbs; check out Stealth Auto (bulb # 7507). And something like the Philips Vision Plus H7 bulb for the HB. Also some H6W City Light bulbs. Check out AMBulbs.com

    Titan,

His stuff is purely plug and play to you, all you need to do is losen 4 bolt on each side of the headlight, unplug the main harness and put everything back together.

It is the best way to upgrade to xenon AND ecode at the same time.

You can take my word for that.

do you need a tool to loosen the torx screws when removing the headlights? can you do that with a regular plier or something?

also... are s4 xenon ecodes on a 2002 compatible with the headlights on a 2004.5?

haha.. you gonna look at what he is asking first dude...

    bigshrimpin,

You do need a torx in order to remove the headlight assembly. It is a common tools that you should be able to get it in any hardware store.

s4 xenon ecodes on a 2002 ARE compatible with the headlights on a 2004.5 and so is the S4 bi-xenon xenon that i am selling on the classified forums.
