if you sell cars you must be an idiot salesman. All audi vw with exposed lugs have caps over them. Anything with a center cap covering lugs does not. I cant believe they dont make you know things like that. Taking wheels off is the easiest thing if you cant do that you should work on your car.

Everything that you need is in the trunk. The rest you can figure out on your own.

I had to take off a tire so that i could pop out the center cap of the rim from the inside to respray it so i pulled out the jack from the trunk. I was lucky in that i had 4 or 5 bolts lightly tightened on when it happened though. Almost took out my garage door when it happened..

    Never again.

Re: Easiest way to swap wheels at home?

but actually if you wanna get a good setup for your house, do what I did

    - Go to craigslist, get lucky and find a good used air compressor
    - Go to sears buy a jack, air gun, air tools starter kit (hose fittings etc), and a 17mm long impact socket
    - Go home and now you can swap your wheels in about twenty minutes
    - Cost me roughly 300 bucks with the used compressor I got lucky with ( 26 gallon 2HP Craftsmen )

getting two people, me to drive car, and someone to drive truck with rims to dealer. Having to deal with waiting, and not being able to do it whenever you want, someone else handling your 3000 dollar rims..... and dont forget about all the other uses that equipment has when your a DIYer

    Ill pass on the dealer

Harbor Freight has low profile jacks for lowered cars that are very fairly priced.. Aside from that, the above list is dead on.

sears is literally across the street from my house and harbor freight is 20min away. Plus prices weren't bad. I bought a kit that had a jack and two jackstands with it for like 80 bucks I want to say

I bought that for my car and it has worked fine. I used to have a 2 ton jack but I couldn't put the whole car on jackstands at once so I went with a 3 ton jack.
