Exclamation Okay, I'll give the E05 a try!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well, I got tired of waiting and trying different exhaust manifolds so I decided to get an E05 and keep the stock manifold and airbox. In my opinion this is where most of the big turbo upgrades have issues. I am having it installed this Saturday at EuroCode. I am planning on installing a Nitrous system(which I already have) as well. The nitrous will act as a power adder as well as a charged air cooler (much like an extra intercooler).

Once the install is complete we will take it to AMS and tune it all out on the dyno. I will have a few different tunes. One for the E05 on 91 octane, another for the E05, nitrous and 91 octane and then the full race tune of E05, nitrous, and 100 octane.

I am hoping to make 240 - 250 CHP with the E05 and near 300 CHP with the nitrous. I know that nitrous is feared by many but I have used it on many different cars and have always found it to be awesome, especially when used with a turbo.

That wild. Can't wait hear how it turns out. With nitrious you can run a FMIC cooler.

    Opps or was that CO2
either way can't wait hear how it goes.

Maestro tuned and built by RAI.... bottom end, some head work, 3071 for now, custom RAI FMIC, and bunch of other stuff that I gotta find receipts for.

Both will work and you are right. I already have the distribution block needed to have the nitrous split to the fogger and the cooler.

I did but I was told that they were shipping the pre-orders now and my order would be a little delayed so I canceled. I didn't cancel because it was delayed; I canceled because I didn't want to go through the same issues I had with the T28.

I hope so! My plan is to make good power first, then all the other mods. That is why I still have the stock rims, stock suspension, stock body kit, and so on. I didn't even install the Xenons I got from Jackson because I want all of my budget going to horsepower right now.

too bad we live on opposite sides of the country . . .

good luck with the E05, hopefully everything will work out as planned!

The E05 software I believe is the same as the K04 software, it would be an interesting matchup to see how a different turbo affects the system.

    D,

I will most likely come down and hang with you guys and make sure you're installing it right. Actually David is superb, no on else has done better work on my car. I think you'll hit 250HP w/ the testpipe. I know the E05 hit 235HP and a whopping 275TQ on a dyno w/out the testpipe. We know the TP adds a solid 15HP, from mine and Ellie's dyno's.

I'm going with APR's Stage 3, they say they're waiting on one part from Garret and it's a go. See you Saturday bro, and congrats!!!

Sounds good man; I'll see you on Saturday. I can't wait for your APR kit. I know their hardware is going to be better then ATP or PES. They didn't have the chip thing worked out for my car but I think this kit will be great. Then we can race!

    Hey Neo,

Should be in the $4500-4700 range. Somewhat pricey I know, but you get everything you need. You will retain the stock airbox a special 3" MAF will be used with it. You also keep all of your smog lines and the N75 valve, the kit comes with a Hi Flo Cat as well. The car will make over 300HP easy. Even with the price, you're still way under the high cost of an S4 or M3 and It will be faster than both of those cars, so it's well worth the money, IMHO.

Whatever kit I go for I want it with Revo so I hope your story is a good one with the E05. Villains, is your car Revo with stock turbo now? I hope so, so that you can fill us in on how much faster the E05 is. To me my car is fast with just Revo. I would love for it to be a lot faster though. I'll be checking this thread all weekend.

275 lb/ft torque with 235 HP! Are you serious? The MTM Stage 3 only produces 255 lb/ft @ 3200 RPM with 250 HP. My Stage 2 produces (claims) 245 lb/ft torque with 215 HP. Most of the numbers that I have seen from other chips, don't produce the torque that MTM does.

And so it's APR Stage 3 now, eh? Finally made a choice. Did you get your $$$ back yet?

    Van,

I do have a Revo chip right now and I love it too. My current mods are as follows:

    K&N drop-in filter
    Forge 007 DV
    Greedspeed dual side mount intercoolers
    Revo chip
    Milltek exhaust with downpipe

On Saturday, David will install the following:

    Revo E05 file
    E05 turbo
    TT225 Injectors
    EuroCode test pipe

Then probably next week when we have more time, we will install the NOS nitrous kit. Then hopefully we can get the car over to AMS and strap her to the dyno to see what she can do. I also plan to get her over to the drag strip with a few of my Mustang friends and see what the dyno numbers translate to. Again, I will keep you all informed.

PS. You guys can all call me Derrick. Villains is just the name of the Mustang crew I used to race with.

    Villains,

TT225 injectors should 380cc, right ?? If you are just looking for 250HP, why go for such big injectors ?? Believe 310cc should be fine as this is what Revo Mitch told me. Meanwhile, they should have the 310 cc fuel map readied for you as this is what he custom made for me while he was here.

My friend's K04 Revo + 310cc injectors can produce 260HP as per Revo Mitch so long as he can maintain the air intake temperature at 40C or else, pull out boost problem may occurred. 10C higher = 10% boost reduction.
Can't go back to stock after Revoed

At least MTM is giving out honest numbers, nothing like the 270HP on a K04 that I've been told by a few tuners who will remain nameless. The E05 is actually a great turbo, there's only one bad story I've heard and it's because the guy raised the boost to 2 bar!!! He's lucky his engine didn't go kaboom.

The $, yes finally got it back. from the loan company, it was in dispute, even after all that time PES still tried to get out of it. Thank you very much American General financing, good people. I may buy my house through them now. Awesome company.

Yeah I'm going with the APR GT28RS Stage 3, APR's hardware is emmaculate, IMHO, and they're setup is pretty much bolt on, keep the stock box and my DIY 3" ram intake , the stock N75 valve, MAF, etc. I've been advised by someone I trust very much to wait for APR's kit. With David's research we can have faith that our motors can take the power. I've been in contact w/ APR, things are looking good for July. Crossing my fingers. Any word on MTM Stage 4 yet?

    Oh, you mean Oettinger

Woo hoo! I'm so glad to hear you have your refund. It's about *bleepin* time. PES is bad for putting you through that... mkay.

So maybe July for the APR Stage 3 eh? That's great news. You'll finally be in the 300hp ring. Congrats you lucky bastard. No word on Stage 4 yet. I couldn't afford it right now anyways I still need to get my new set of HRE's ordered, sort out the Stage 2 issues and finish the body kit conversion. I need a CC or a loan

    Thanks Bro,

I'd recommend American General Financing for that loan.

Don't know much about MTM and not sure whether their figure is accurate or not. I spoke to my local Revo dealer who is also the Revo office in the Far East Asia Region. Upon Mitch of Revo got back from Japan, they signed 11 dealers all over Japan as the Japanese market is getting hot for Audi.

When I spoke to Mitch, they are very precise about the tunning in different countries. They are hiring more people in their company to travel around the world visit our local dealer, obtain data from each car's ECU to develop the software to suit the country's demand such as weather condition which affect the performance of its software seriously. As per Mitch, the software in west coast of US is similar to the software they use in PRC, China Audi. They call it code A even for the same ECU number, the code (software) they use in Hong Kong is close to what they are using in UK. As such, East coast and west coast are using different software running with different ignition and timming.

As Mitch visited Japan, he was amazed with Japanese's fuel quality as all gas station sell 100 Ron fuel and whilst, most countries only sell 98 Ron. As a result, their car is running more rich and able to achieve to timming 7-8 without pull back boost. This is how the fuel quality affect the performance of our car.
Can't go back to stock after Revoed

My friend's K04 Revo + 310cc injectors can produce 260HP as per Revo Mitch so long as he can maintain the air intake temperature at 40C or else, pull out boost problem may occurred. 10C higher = 10% boost reduction.
The injectors for the TT have a different spray pattern that helps against detonation; plus they are the correct impedance (in other words they match our ECU). Also, Audi recommends them for anything above 225 HP; hence they are on the TT225. Also, since I will be running nitrous, having room to spare on the injectors is always a good idea.

    I hope everthing works out
There was a guy is socal with a E05 kit for his 02 A4 with REVO software purchased from Eurocode and it did not run right and he had a -25% fuel trim adaptation. He was also told that ping was quite normal and he should expect check engine lights. He eventually gave up on the REVO and Dave at Eurocode and purchased the Neuspeed software that Eric from Supreme was running an the car run fine no more check engine light no more -25% fuel trim adaptation and no mor pining

That is not actually true. He went back to David and had his issues fixed. In fact, he promised to go back on the forums and set the story straight, but he hasn't done that yet. He really embellished the story and tried to make David look bad, but the problems were not David's fault.

This guy went back to Eurocode a few times to get it fixed and never bad mouth or mentioned his problems he just accepted that is the way it was because that was what he was told , then he talked to Eric at SPP and found out how well his car ran and that he had no problems , You are right he did get the problem fixed when he purchased the same Neuspeed software Eric from SPP was running on his car

That is not what I have heard. Anyway, David never told anyone that detonation is okay and that it is to be expected. Either way, I have seen a lot of successful installs of the E05 and I am not worried.

    Misano,

As you know, not every kit is problem free, but your story is from some guy, so if you don't know his name how do you know exactly what happened? Did you personally talk to him? Right off I can't buy the guy's story because David would never tell someone Pinging is normal. Now pinging happens alot on our cars, sometimes it's silent and you can't hear it, maybe the guy misunderstood? My NS software pinged, but it was fixable. Actually your story has a positive side, the E05 eventually ran right. I'd like to see the two files on a dyno. Either way It's good to hear the guy got it running right. How's your SK04 running?
