    B7 A4 2.0T P0341 P0011 P0010 P2293 P000A

    Hey Everyone

I just purchased a 2006 A4 2.0T Avant with 125k on it. It runs ~ok~ but definitely hesitates at times and the epc light comes and goes. The following codes appear when you hook up a reader to it. P0341 P0011 P0010 P2293 P000A The engine makes quite a bit of noise from the cam chain area when at idle. The car just had the timing belt replaced and all of this allegedly arose after the t-belt was replaced. The mechanic said he verified the timing was correct. Any ideas out there? I bought the car fairly cheap knowing of these issues. Thanks!

The timing is off. Do NOT run the car...
Take the chain cover off and inspect the chain, tensioner, and oil control rings

I'm going to say that your oil pump is failing and the reduced oil pressure has collapsed your aging timing chain tensioner which is causing the timing issues. There is a very high likelihood that the motor has to come out of this car for it to be fixed.

The oil screen is clear if that helps at all. I’ll start by taking the chain cover off and go from there.

yes, i think you may find a collapsed tensioner or damaged rings in the timing cover...

it could also be a bad N205 not delivering the correct oil pressure to advance the cam, or a bad cam adjuster.... i will tell you that about 90% of the time people come on here with those codes and insist the timing is correct , it is in fact wrong. So dont assume anything..

First is to check the complete timing of belt and chain static timing (not just the belt) and inspect tensioners. You may find something since you indicated it was very noisy inside the timing cover.
