i have a 2006 A4 quattro 2.0T and is runnign really rough when the clutch is in, the engine revvs between 800 and 1500 RPMS and the throttle is really jerky, any advice over what the problem might be, i thought perhaps ignition coil because i had several problems with that on my last passat, any thoughts? i dont own a VAG-com, perhaps i should invest in one.

In my experience (my B5 only), a rough running motor means one of the cylinders is not firing. This usually means coil pack. These cars are STILL known for blowing coil packs. I say it's a coil pack.

As I recall my B5 gave me a flashing CEL at first, but then a constant CEL after I restarted it. I still say coil pack.
