    Rubbing Issues

I just had my Stasis street sport kit installed today, and i'm having some rubbing issues with my current setup. The ride height was set to 25" all the way around, exactly as reccommended. My car has 19x8.5 Champion RF62's, I believe the offset is 35mm. It is rubbing when I go over expansion joints on the freeway, and also when I go in and out of driveways and such. Anybody else have this problem? Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

    Re: Rubbing Issues

I can't offer much in the way of help. I get some slight rub on mine when hitting harsh dips at speed. It seems to be against the fender liners, and not the fenders themselves, so I'm not too concerned.

Seems like your install shop should've caught this, though. Did they do a test drive? Worse, if yours is anything like mine, the ride height will actually decrease as the suspension settles. I'd recommend asking your shop for some assistance. Good luck...

Ara, any updates on this? If I remember right from your B7 post you were considering going even lower?

It still rubs sometimes. My wheels are 19x8.5. Tires are 235/35 Michelin PS2's. Dont know if i'm going lower with it, but i am changing to the Stasis Ohlins setup. I'll update again when those are installed.

25" from ground to fender lip is too aggressive. We'd suggest around 25 3/8" at the most aggressive.

Your wheels are causing the rubbing issues. We run a 19x8 35et on our own Avant and are right about 25 3/8" and we don't rub, save for the curves/big dips at speed (with a fully loaded car) as VrooomVroooom states. But going 0.5" wider with the wheels will certainly cause rubbing.

PS--Nice upgrade to the STaSIS MotorSport/Ohlins. YOU WILL LOVE THEM!!!

    Re: Rubbing Issues

I guess that I can look forward to rubbing also as I am running 19x8.5 +32 BBS LM's shod with 245/35/19 PS2's. The car isn't lowered but I wanted to install the Ohlins also.

    Can it be done?

    Re: Rubbing Issues

Well, I had the Ohlins installed yesterday, and 95 percent of the problem is gone. I think they also trimmed the inner fenders which helped. Havent measured the ride height, but the car looks to be about the same height.

I know it does. Who said it didn't? Not only am I pushing the wheel out another 3mm from the the 35 offset, I am also pushing out an additional 1/4" due to the wider wheel.

No one did, but expect rubbing for sure.
