This is only for aesthetics though right? Cause you do know that going up in color temperature would only make headlights dimmer right?

I'm getting some custom 5300K D1C made for myself. I have 6000K and it's nice looking and all but the light output is not as good as I wanted.

5400k is the same as 6000k.

The bulb starts out at 5400k and after a burning in the color temperature shifts to 6000k.

Osram and Philips are the two primary manufacturers of 6000k D1S-HC bulbs. I choose not to comment on bulbs made by other parties other than the 2 I have named.

You can read more here: http://faqlight.carpassion.info/hl-hid-bulbs.htm

If you want to get the real 6000k bulbs go to www.suvlights.com

Re: Creative Autoworks D1S 6000 or 8000K Special

Just to let you guys know that McCulloch has a contract with Audi Asia to produce and supply several Audi models with the HID bulb and ballast (but of course to Audi specs). Again, I repeat, this only applies to Audi Asia.

MC Hammered, as for your comment on the 5400K and 6000K. How long of a burn in time frame for the bulb to shift color? A friend of mine has his 5300K for almost a year now and it's still white as a ghost compare to my 6000K.

    lifetime warranty is good.

ok, let me rephrase the question... Who is the manufacturer of your creative autowork bulbs, where is its origin?

I'm guessing not philips or osram.

Real may not have been the best word I could have used... but I was referring to D1S-HC bulbs made by Osram or Philips.

No, they will turn 6000K after they've completely fired up and burned in. I've recently installed 6000K in my IS350 and it's NOT AS BRIGHT AS AND DOES NOT LIGHT UP THE ROAD as good as the Audi Bixenons are. If you guys are concerned about safety and visibility at night PLEASE go with something closer to OEM color temperatures like 4500K.

Everyone always says that 6000k bulbs are not as bright but I've made the switch in my previous B5 A4 as well as my EVO IX, and in both cars it seemed like i had more visability and definitely more clarity over the stockers.

D1S bulbs are D1S bulbs and the fact that they are brighter on your IS350 vs the Audi bixenons has more to do with the design of the projector lens than the color temperature of the bulb used.

nonononono! The Audi is noticeably much brighter than the IS350 HIDs!

^^ Do largely to the projectors in the car.

I used IDENTIFCAL 6k bulbs in my B5 A4 and my EVO IX and the Audi had superior pattern, clarity, and brightness.

It's also the ballast that contributes to the brightness. There are ways to extract more power output out of the ballast (friend does work like this and I may it done also).
