I design the equipment that makes the stuff that keeps you safe. In certain circles it's not wise to say you have a gov job.


What do I do? I am an engineer in the high performance precision electronics field. I design and maintain the equipment that makes the parts. I literally do anything necessary including production. Yes, I'm being purposely vague. You either know my employer or not. They do not advertise.

How can one be a judge, lawyer and LEO all-in-one but not a LEO? The only thing that comes to mind is a "magistrate" or "constable" but still a stretch.

I can make legally binding decisions like a judge, but my decisions can be overturned by an actual judge. Even my own supervisor does not have the power to direct my decisions before I make them.

I represent the US in a way like a lawyer would and apply US law to individuals like a LEO would, but can request actual LEOs to engage if it is needed. I also have the power to force individuals to appear in front of a judge like a prosecutor. People usually leave my office with a big smile, but sometimes they cry. And I've even had some people leave in handcuffs.

I'll accept guesses via PM.

We are lineman mostly, we get into the inside wireman in electrical substations occasionally but I don't think our Cincinnati office deals in substations. Personally I have not had to do much with our Cinci office, I am mainly Chicago, St Louis, and Kansas. Trying to get more into the Des Moines area lately. Put a few projects together for Indy and Philadelphia as well.

Estimator for a large (top 10ish in the us) general contractor. The division I work for focuses on federal government contracts, we work all over the world. As a result I’ve been lucky enough to live on an island in the western pacific, another island in the Caribbean, DC area, and I’ve visited countless us states, South America, the Middle East and an island about halfway between Africa and South America that most of the general population has never heard of.

As cool as that all sounds there are people I work with that make me look travel-averse

Pretty late to this game, I delivered water, yes the large 5 gallon bottles for about 17yrs with some management towards the end. For the past 2 years I have been a production manager with a company that builds custom Experiential Marketing vehicles for major brands like T-Mobile, Jersey Mike’s, Samsung and many more. When Covid hit last March, the experiential world shut down so we pivoted to create mobile testing facilities and started working on a mobile health division. Very fun company and interesting content!
