Issue removing right side engine mount

Hi there. I'm in the process of doing a timing belt, tensioner/rollers, and water pump replacement on my 2008 Audi TT Roadster 8J 2.0 TFSI, BPY engine (FWD) which has 145,000 kms on it.

Looking for some advice on removing the right side mount that's bolted to the engine. I've removed all the bolts, raised the engine 4 inches using a car jack and wood block as suggested by others on this site and in YouTube videos (though mostly BWA engines) to try and wiggle it out. My issue is there are 2 plastic vacuum lines, one fuel line, and an AC pipe adjacent to the mount that won't allow me to remove it. Not sure how much higher I can raise the engine without causing other problems. I removed the lower timing belt cover bolts thinking I might be able to remove it to do this job but sadly there's one bolt located behind the mount that's impossible to get at. I've worked at this for ~5 hours today and given up at this point.

If anyone has this BPY model engine and can offer suggestions or advice that can help me, I would be ecstatic and grateful.

    Thanks and cheers.

Ah man, I’ve been there with the BPY engine. Getting that side mount off is such a pain. I had the same issue with the vacuum and fuel lines being right in the way, and I wasn’t sure how much higher I could lift the engine without messing something up.

What helped me was unclipping the vacuum lines and just nudging them to the side. I didn’t disconnect anything, just moved them enough to get a bit of clearance. Same with the fuel line. I also loosened the AC line bracket a little just to give it a bit of wiggle room.

That bolt behind the mount is honestly the worst part. I couldn’t get the lower timing cover off either until the mount was completely out. You’re not doing anything wrong, it’s just one of those awkward jobs. Took me hours too. You’re definitely close.
