I’m looking for a large number of parts and figured before ordering new and destroying my budget, I would ask here to see if anyone has any of these in good used condition or laying around new that I can live with while saving some cash. Please PM me with parts you may have for sale along with your asking price. Please be aware that parts will need to be shipped to 14150 unless you’re within a few hours of Buffalo, NY. I will only pay with PayPal goods and services and won’t reply to contact uncle Vinny he has your part for sale.

  - I went with 034’s Bosch billet MAF housing, S4 airbox adapter, and reinforced silicone intake hose instead to keep the stock engine covers and stock y I was forced to go with the ETSpec intake tube with integrated Hitachi MAF holder - I hope the stock y and engine covers will still work.

As a heads up, the Tial MVI gates are fully unecessary for your application. Doesn't mean you can't run them or shouldn't strive to use the nicest possible parts, they may require some modification to the MVI brackets or your compressor housings. I can't say I've seen them used on a BW k04, so I'm not positive they're simply bolt on. May be more headache than it's worth...

Hey man, glad to see you're moving ahead with the project!
I hadn't reached out before now because your post indicates you'd prefer a new example; but I have a used, OEM B5 S4 dual-mass flywheel that has ~145k miles on it and was in good working order when removed. I would be willing to donate that to the cause if you’re interested in picking it up.

Regarding the actuators, if your K04s are genuine Borg-Warner, and brand new, I agree there is no need to upgrade the actuators. BW ones are good quality. That said, just to put the correct information out there, the TiAL MVI 2.5 actuators are absolutely compatible with K04s, and can be purchased as a direct, bolt-on solution. Not any more difficult to install on K04s than they would be on any other pair of turbos.

The freshly rebuilt K04’s that I bought for my ‘winter beater’ build came with a pair of new Mamba actuators installed on them. I wasn’t satisfied with the operation of the Mamba units when I was setting them prior to install, so I got the set of the TiALs that I had bought for my “good” build out of my parts bin to study the differences. After doing so, I was impressed enough with the build- and material-quality of the TiALs compared to the Mambas that I opted to use those TiAL units I had on-hand for my winter build, and purchased a second set for use on my nicer build. I have yet to disect a BW actuator, so I can't speak to the design of those, but anecdotally they certainly seem to hold up well.

I have no affiliations, nor axes to grind (I buy stuff from both companies regularly); but for what it’s worth SRM also sells a pair of the TiALs with actuator rods designed for the 2.7T configuration, but they “only” charge $379 vs JAE’s $515, so that’s where I got mine:

Thank you! I’m glad to be getting back to this project as well and hope that this time we can finish it off.

I appreciate the added information about the tial mvi 2.5s. I also saw the set at SRM but I wasn’t sure if they maybe didn’t come with brackets or something like that but it’s good to hear they’re compatible from either site.

The new turbos are genuine borg warner K04s directly from Borg Warner, so I’m hopeful the wastegate actuators will be good to go as is at least for now being that I increased my turbo cost 3X from the original set but the piece of mind is worth it.

I also appreciate the offer on the flywheel. Maybe we can meet up sometime in the near future to take care of that.

How’s your car situation going? The last we spoke I believe you were in the market for a new B5.

Yep, the zinc plated steel brackets shown in SRM's photos are included, and overall fitment was excellent.

You can't go wrong with BW K04's on these cars, I'm sure you'll be glad you went the route you did.

Oh man, I’ll give your thread a look but I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble. If I were at home today I would offer to come help although I’d probably just be in the way in the end.

I appreciate the info on the SRM Tial WGs and coming with the brackets, it’s definitely more affordable than JAEInnovations. I’ll shoot you a text this weekend. I have to head down to the Southtowns already so should be easy to coordinate timing if you’re available. Thank you again!

Does anyone know the CB on a 2014 R8 rear hubs? I ask because I bought some Brembo GT 4 pot calipers and rotor hats with hardware but will need to replace rotors. I’d prefer to do a 1 piece design and think the rear rotor from a 2014 R8 may work, PN #420615601J, but I get conflicting results on the CB being 57.1 or maybe 66.6 (hoping 57.1) and the size is sometimes listed at 355mm or sometimes 356mm (hoping 355). Still not sure on the hat offset or anything like that so if anyone has any input for this it would be greatly appreciated! I am aware of the paragon options and they are my second choice or girodisc at #3.

I’m thinking the 355x32 rear rotors in the front - I’m not doing the Brembo rears - but again I get conflicting information as to the actual diameter between 355 and 356. Admittedly I still don’t know the hat offset or if it’s anywhere near close.

I can promise the rear is 356mm, not 355, for an R8 rear rotor. Also needs a caliper bracket even if being used up front

The GT front kit was 355mm. No idea what its front offset was though. I’m sure you could ask brembo directly

Brembo replacement front rings are part # 09.9306.11 and 21

I have a caliper bracket with the Brembo GT kit and it may be worth getting a new set of brackets for the Brembo kit machined to be able to use more readily available rear rotors up front. I want to use a one piece rotor instead of two.

Bump - OP is updated. Please let me know if you have any of the remaining items in by Friday 6/13. After 6/13 I plan to order what remains as new items. I’m heading to Turkey for a few weeks next month and would like everything here for when I get home so I can hopefully knock out this project mechanically and get my garage back before the winter this year for my fiancé and I to use for our dailies.

There’s another coming this week and I still need to find the remaining items in the OP of this thread but working through the parts list and my budget. I know I post the turbos elsewhere but they’re pretty enough to post an image or two again (oh well idc).





Getting excited to get started in finally reviving this project at the end of July when I get home from Turkey.

I sent out a set of 4, s3 injectors back in 2022, for my k04 B7 a4 from VA. Bought them used here off a forum member and wanted them cleaned and tested before installing. It was around $110.00 at the time which included cleaning, new seals, testing with print out and return shipping. No issues since.

I’ve got a used walbro 450, another thing I got off here but haven’t tried it out. You can have it for the price of shipping if you’re interested. I can figure out how to clean and test it if so.
