Advice on selling my low mileage OEM+ B6 A4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Looking for advice on how to price my very low mileage great condition B6 A4 1.8TQ Automatic. Is it Bring A Trailer worthy or just put it up locally on FB Marketplace. Only cosmetic OEM+ mods have been done to it and the miles are around 54,500. Fresh inspection pretty great paint for year and being black. No CEL and none of the notable problems with the car for its age i.e. sagging headliner, broken glove box, broken arm rest, dead pixels in cluster. All fully intact and great. Leather is in pretty nice shape as well. Got a set of hard to find OEM A4 stamped all weather mats, first aid kit, and a VW Passat roof rack to fit the car which roof racks are pretty hard to find it seems as well that arent aftermarket anyway. If the car was a collectible trading card it definitely isnt gem mint by any means but it is a pretty much bone stock untouched performance wise classic euro sedan with zero rust in the northeastern US. I would say it is about an 8/10 maybe 8.5/10 after a fresh detail LOL. I am the second owner of the car and only put like 1800 miles on it myself the original owner has all service records done almost exclusively at audi dealership and even have the window sticker. They were an older couple and the wife used the vehicle as her daily running errands vehicle. Looking for insight on the right asking price for this as mentioned above since KBB value puts max private party value around $5700 which I feel is far too low and this vehicle deserves a slight premium in cost for its condition.

***UPDATE: THE CAR IS PENDING SALE AT MY ASKING PRICE OF $8000***

    B6 A4 on bring a trailer? -_-

assuming the paint is absolutely perfect and the car's mechanically perfect, I'd say 6k really is about the max you could ask especially if its a sedan. If it had 10k miles on it I'd understand where you're coming from, but 54k is still enough miles for it to be no different than a 150k mile car, mechanically and reliability wise. That plastic in the engine bay is still 22 years old.

If this were an 04-05 6 speed ultrasport avant then yeah, you'd have something special worth around 10k, but that's not the case here.

Agreed on all points. Try taking it to Carmax to see what they offer you. As you pull in, there's likely a guy on the sidewalk just outside their property flipping a big ridiculous sign around advertising that his company will beat any Carmax offer--if that guy is there, note where his store is. Go to his store afterwards, and they'll likely offer you $500 more than Carmax did.

Is this a 5 speed MT or an Automatic? Maybe a pristine, ultra low mileage sedan. I just don't see a normal one selling for much. I don't expect that my 05 Nogaro A4 would be worth $10K. If you can get the $6K, take it and run.

54k miles is really amplified by the 22 years, which is a long time for a car. Getting 6k for it would be really lucky as others have said. Nice car but not a collectors item. I'd be happy with 4-5k

He's got a supposedly pristine "OEM+" 2003 a4 sedan with 54k miles on it and is wondering if it's got collector value given that it's only had 2 owners and has been driven less than 2k a year while he's had it. Then wondering where to sell it as such (because it doesn't get driven much anymore) and if it's the sort of thing you should bring to a BringATrailer auction to get maximum value for it. The post was quite long, too bad it's deleted, but I don't think there were actually any other details on the car itself...

Good summary. I don't know why it all had to be deleted--it was a reasonable question and a nice discussion.

Hey guy: you can delete the entire thread yourself by deleting your initial post, which is the first function you see when you click on "edit post" in the footer

I just asked for it to be deleted because I got the information I needed. It was taken into consideration by myself and I decided to list the vehicle locally on FB marketplace at a premium over KBB value which was $5800 and it is pending sale for $8000. Almost had a bidding war between 3 buyers and had over 1500 views in 48 hours with more than 12 interested parties. So while I usually value the feedback on the forums, I am glad I went with my gut and am honestly frustrated I did not ask for slightly more. As for deleting the post myself, you mentioned deleting my first post which I did but people kept submitting replies even though I no longer can see my initial post so not sure how that works but alas it is a moot point because the vehicle is sold. I am awaiting my duplicate title to arrive so I can transfer to new owner since my house is in shambles from a complete renovation and I cannot for the life of me find the original. Anyway, thanks for the advice, I chose not to take it but I certainly have been helped more often than not on these forums with repairs and advice in general. Take care folks

Always go with your gut, no one can assess your car better than you without seeing it in person...
Glad you got a good amount for it! Must have been better condition that most of us here assumed. Hopefully the sale goes through (unclear on if it's pending or actually sold?)

I echo this sentiment. The reason forums (bulletin boards) are so useful is that they present a place for somebody (like you) to learn something almost for free (the cost is simply your time and ours). The reason these places still exist as essentially the last bastion of Internet 1.0 is because they work so well, but that depends on us leaving our lessons behind once we've learned what we needed. We should all work to preserve that before the internet just collapses into a cesspool of TikTok Poison Eating challenges and A.I.-generated fictional "news" for the benefit of its greedy and lazy "content creators".

I think we're all glad that you got such a good offer for your car. That helps everybody here who may eventually choose to sell their old A4s. Perhaps, at least for now, the market for these old cars is stronger than we thought. Good luck.

Fully agree with Gunnarrrrr and Mike Tries. Deleting information helps no one. And as has been said, forums like this are some of the dwindling number of good resources left on the internet.
Deleting things helps no one, it just induces fragmentation of the information.

I miss craigslist being the default, it feels almost empty now and I don't want to have to deal with Facebook.

I’d rather die than have a red b6 sedan parked in front of my house for months

no offense to kevin if he sees this, I love your car and you’re welcome to park in my driveway any time

I was hawking this as well, also, in PA. Old "rust free" euro's in the NE fetch a premium. I think the OP's 8k ask was spot on all things considered.
