2014 SQ5 Alignment Question (Getting the runaround - HELP!)

    Hey All-

I just had my 2014 SQ5 lowered on Bilstein B8's and H&R Sport Springs (plus all new Meyle HD CA's in the front) and pretty much every shop I have called (5) is giving me different information. One shop said they cant do it because the subframe/cradle needs to be dropped, another shop specializing in lowered cars said the steering wheel will be crooked because they cant adjust the steering sensor, Audi Dealer basically said they don't work on lowered cars and another shop I have used before said its possible and they can adjust the steering sensor but they cant guarantee the spec of the alignment because this car "doesn't have a lot of adjustment".

I am looking for definitive answers before going and spending $350 for a one time alignment. What's the deal here? What actually needs to happen to get it back into speck? Last thing I want to go is chew up my brand new Michelins...

Lastly, what are proper alignment specs for both toe and C/C for a lowered SQ5? I am going for OEM+ and am fine with a little camber long as it doesn't chew up my new tires as mentioned above. Hoping @Mops might hop on here and others who have experience with this.

Thanks in advance for any guidance/help Audi Fam!

    Sean

Got the same suspension setup as you. You just need toe adjusted. Steering wheel won't be crooked if done right. There's really nothing Audi specific you need to do to get the SQ aligned. I have never calibrated the steering angle sensor and never had issues. Backup camera trajectory lines up with steering wheel. You'll chew up the inner side of the tires a bit more than stock unless you get adjustable upper control arms to take out some of the negative camber. But honestly, the inner tire wear isn't that bad.

OK...gotcha. So toe is litterally the only thing that can be aligned on this car WITHOUT adjustable uppers? What specs are you running?

I think rear camber be adjusted slightly with oem control arms. But front is definitely not adjustable without aftermarket adjustable control arms. But yeah, toe is just about the only thing you can adjust.

For toe, I'm running .08 in each front corner and .09 in each back corner. I feel like machines read differently, so there's gonna be slight variations. For camber, I'm at -2 ish all around.
